Doyle has to admit himself his legs are gone we can all see it in games. No doubt Robins can see it too. But will he be brave enough to ease him aside. He is Robins lieutenant and there is no other apparant leader/captain in the squad.

So hence we will have to do with Doyle. After all its not like we havnt been doing well this season.

I don't think it's his legs gone as such. He could probably run about all day and long distances with no issues.

It's more the sharp turn of pace, seeing it a lot more in League 1 that players can get the ball and leave him for dead before he realises it.

Triangle football

Favourite phrase in football.

Anyone remember that punditry on MOTD or something a few years back I think, when Martin Keown just joined three players up with lines for about 10 minutes and said "Wow and there you see that triangle again" hahahaha

Doyle is definitely not good enough for League One until we win again in which case he will be good enough for League One.

In a nutshell, right there.

With the playing role MR asks him to do he’s still got the legs to do that job, it’s just that job is not what fans want to see.

MR wants him to sit deep and screen the back four, not to go over the halfway line unless instructed or use his experience when to do so and not be adventurous and tick play over. He does this job perfectly.

This is all a very similar situation to the stick John Fleck got when he was restricted to going over the halfway line, fans used to get very frustrated with him too.

Doyle’s fitness is fine for the role asked of him, naturally speed is falling away and agility obviously. He’s good enough to see the season out unless a miracle happens in January and a leader fit for the role arrives.

Naturally we do need to identify and bring in a replacement ideally for next season and moving forwards if we wish to kick on and develop the side further with ambitions to get out this league.
