A couple of thousand more even when we had Sisu in charge until relegation then the Sixfields debacle. I'm not going to debate over who is a bigger club as it's open to interpretation, but they've certainly had more success than us in recent years and have some actual hope. You know, things like a ground to play at after next season and other assorted luxuries.

The reality is Sheffield United have consistently averaged 20,000 fans in the league - have consistently had a big budget - and haven't until this season achieved promotion.

Portsmouth in the division below are only achieving promotion this season after being by far the biggest team in that league.

The reality is these owners won't put any money in as no one will invest in something that's not likely to get a return

Also let's not forget that they haven't averaged 20000 once in league one.

England historical attendance and performance

Nice guess though, but as you are a stickler for detail I thought it would be worth mentioning.

Whilst the parasite remains expect more of the same next year.

Robins will do his best whilst being hamstrung and having both hands tied behind his back.

I don't see where anything is going to change?

As per usual a post that blames Sisu for Sheffield Utd's success and not Ours descends into a slanging match.

Why is it that whenever a OP mentions SISU & there's a disagreement that this automatically means that they love SISU?

Sheffield Utd have better players and a better squad. They own their own ground and consistently get high attendances (even when they were in the old Div 3 &4). They have owners that have consistently invested in the squad.

What they haven't had for years is a decent manager (which they have now).

There's a whole lot of reasons why Utd are top and we are bottom-not all of them SISU's fault.

Managers, players and yes supporters are to blame (would we have lost at home to Sheff Utd this season if those protests didn't happen?).

You really need to understand that after 10 years of complete chaos on and off the pitch that the buck stops with the owners. It's really not difficult it the same with any business.
As to 'Sisu lovers' again if you had you eyes open and brain engaged you'd have seen year after year of subtle and none so subtle apologism from a mouthy handful on here. They are the ones who express undying love for the club whilst supporting those killing it, you couldn't make it up.

Look I hate SISU with the best of them , and nothing will change as long as they remain .

but when new owners (if they ever) take this club over , at some point the so called fans of this football club HAVE to start backing them consistently if they ever want to see their club rise again

Looking hard but.....
No it doesn't. It says the difference between the two Clubs is Sheff Utd owners invest in the team... That is why they're pushing for promotion.

It makes the "city till I die" songs from Sunday seem even more ironic.

Will have to re-word it to "city till I tie if we are winning, if there's an offer on tickets, if I can get a freebie, if we play a big team, if we play at Wembley"

Owners come and go, fans don't pick and choose their football team.

It's not bollocks though is it. Fans shouldn't abandon their football club because of the owners. We'd be in a much better position to achieve success if half of the Wembley crew turned up most weeks.

Look Nick I've spent thousands of pounds and thousands of hours supporting my team From
a distance for 30 + years, the one thing I always had was hope, hope that this just might be
The year. As far as I can make out all hope has been extinguished at this club, the owners
Openly tell us they're not putting anything in, so why the fuck should I.

To attend a game costs me £200 odd quid and a full day, if the owners were doing their job
I wouldn't have a problem with that, but how can I justify it now.
Of course if I lived round the corner like you, I'd have a ST and be a super fan like you.

Who said anything about Super Fan? It seems the only people wanting medals are when the posts are along the lines of yours trying to be a moral hero.

If you don't want to support the club then it's fine, just note the irony when you moan about investment and wage budgets.

Therein lies the problem. We DID have regular gates of 20-24k when SISU bought(I use that term loosely) CCFC. Season upon season of bad management sees us where we are now. Fans have proven what gates are achievable. Don't misplace loyalty for fan fickleness. The vast majority of the CCFC fans at Wembley want to be at the Ricoh every other week but see that it doesn't matter if they paid £100 or a 100 pence for a ticket, NONE of it goes back into the team to make it successful. Trust me when I say this. This Football Club is a "Sleeping Giant" and when the right owners are in place will show the whole of British Football that a Poxy 12k Stadium is nowhere near big enough for the fans of Coventry City FC.

Well hopefully we'll get the chance to see if the fans come back when we have a change of ownership. But the minute there is no success on the pitch, the numbers will dwindle again, so I believe what Nick said is correct.
What were we averaging at home for the first half of the 2015-16 season when we were top at Christmas? I am guessing, but I reckon around 15-16K. THAT was under SISU's ownership, and with Mowbray as manager. City fans only seem to want to see success. (Note that L1 and L2 attendances fluctuate quite a bit depending on who you are playing, because of the away following from some seriously small clubs)
As for the 2.3K season average the year before, that was when we were at Northampton, which cannot be regarded as a normal situation.

Portsmouth have been the "biggest" club in L2 for a few seasons, and have been getting close on 20K all the time due to their ownership model. But it is only now that they are pushing for promotion - now that they have a new majority shareholder who is willing to invest.

I want #SISUOUT, but I don't think we'll see overnight success in terms of big crowds. That will come with results on the pitch.

I'll be there Saturday to cheer on MY CLUB, even though chances are we'll be down by 5 o'clock

Play Up Sky Blues!

No mention of Sisu lovers.

What about the owners before SISU? Did anyone blame them for our success?

Sheff Utd / Coventry Chalk and Cheese.

My eyes are wide open pal, wide enough to see the whole picture not the bullshit, spin media bollocks that is so readily swallowed by those with sub-level intelligence.

Where was the blame when we bought Fox, Dann, Westwood, Gunnarson etc and that investment brought nothing.

Was THAT SISUs fault too?

Half the Wembley crew DID used to turn up most weeks, the owners failed to engage With them,
the owners failed in the day to day running of the club.
They made supporting CCFC more about off-field woes and angst, than what it's supposed To be
about 'you know" hope, good times, disappointment, atmosphere, camaraderie, anticipation, joy,
Mates, rivalry,.......... and as a result lost a large proportion of the fanbase,
It's not Rocket science, the same thing would happen at any club.

Supporting would be 'not' going to Sixfields in this case.
It just delayed the return and gave Sisu a false hope that more would follow.
