Did you put the extra 'e' on the end because AT has been putting on weight?

Ball?

If we want to keep the ball on deck, we do not NEED a striker who can hold up the ball! (We already have one in Ball)

Btw, it's Thorn!

Just out of curiosity, where's your ST seat?

I can see why you are a supporter of thorn. You clearly share his literary prowess. What fantastic points you are making.

I'm no supporter of Thorn, I'm on the fence atm, let him prove himself and having digs at his appearance is pathetic and a 'low-blow', judge on this season, not appearance.

Its our appearance in the league that bothers me and wins have been very thin on the ground since he has been our manager.

What about in his caretaker role (when he arguably kept us up) when he had; Westwood, Turner, Gunna, King, Juke (as well as Keogh, of course) at his disposal, losing them condemed us to a relegation, especially when was replaced with 2 goalies and a striker!
We all know AT had his hands tied etc and with a team no where near up to the standard he was doomed to relegation, the bookies expected it, and so should've we, in fact, we only nearly stayed up because Pompey went into admin, again. Infact whatever manager we could realistically afford, I doubt we would've stayed up.

Now, with adequate board backing, it is a 'do or die' situation and a draw thus far is adequate, we'll see in the 1st 10 games, in particular Sheffield Utd, how good (or bad) we and Thorn are.

So he kept us up with a win ratio no better than Boothroyd, less points than Boothroyd achieved in his first 10 games, less than Dowie when he took over in his first season and that is the reason we remain hopeful.

I am sure in 2 years time and we are bottom of league 2 with thorn still calling the shots some still will refer to them first 10 games which were, at best, mediocre by honeymoon standards.

There are a lot of insults being thrown around at the moment. It's like we've been on a really poor run or something. I've never known posters so aggressive on here, especially towards users who have been here posting to a high standard for years.

Where is all this hate coming from?

I've no idea why, but I was looking at his wiki this week...his 1 in 35 season at Norwich was spectacular! He had a few 1.5m plus transfers: amazing what rubbish players went for back in those days. We'd have got 2m+ for Keogh!

That's right, I was looking at the lovely new red Cardiff kit on their wiki. I suppose SISU aren't that bad..

It comes from apprehension.

There is a lot of nervousness about this season. I think this is exactly the same atmosphere we had when we were relegated from the premier. We need success and if we don't get it the blame game begins.

I can't seem to remember it being this soon though. You're right, though, so many variables and maybe it's just the reality of L1 kicking in. It's not nice to see, though.

Still can't believe they actually went through with that.

Thorne was Cardiff's club record at the time, I think!! Had a good record at Stoke though, I suppose.

I think they were L1 when they shelled out for him, too! Incredible. Sam's oily gravy train had just rolled into town. Bet they'd take him back now...

If i wanted to insult AT's size I would do a lot better than just 'putting on weight' believe me!

Just think if someone is going to slag a guy off the least he can do is to spell his name right!
