It's strange there's been more interest in this case than that of the deputy head of Barr's Hill School who was recenlty convicted of doing the same thing?

I had never even heard about that. I do often wonder with the press why some things go huge and others that are potentially worse don't. It might be because he didn't take her abroad

He was grooming her for sex but here's no specific offence of "grooming" in the UK at present so he was charged with child abduction instead. He probably pleaded guilty to avoid an even more serious charge being brought.
