I did not feel Baker was that bad, at least he works hard and when he does loose ball he tries to win it back rather than throw his hands in the air and blame others.
We all have our own views but I think Baker is 10 times better than Macca. This Wilson looks exciting, he came on at Carlise and we said then he he looks a great prospect.

Fleck should play.
Has got 6 assists, 1 less than McSheffrey, in considerably less games!
He must be wondering what he has to do to get started regularly.

I'm pretty sure he will be in ahead of Sheff on Saturday.

Be surprised if he's not.

Flecks last assist was Boxing Day and that was a mishit shot that took 2 deflections before falling to wood.

Sheff has 2 assists in the last 3 games.

McSheffrey should be walking all over this league and a top star.

Well he hasn't been. He has been distinctly average and has showed very little class at all.

And this is coming from one of his biggest supporters.

Agreed.

I don't know why or how he's started 15odd games in a row.

If he were foreign, or not from Cov, he'd be public enemy #1 with CCFC fans, I guarantee!

Last night, I went to the game with my mate, who hates Fleck, probably more than Grendel (for the record, he hates Sheff as well, but not as much) and he said bring Fleck on, I've had enough. I also go quite often with an Arsenal fan who says Sheff is shit and he doesn't know why the fans like him.

I agree there is no way that Sheffers can be offered a new deal, the most underwhelming playing this season in a CCFC shirt, I thought that in this league he would shine and score goals and get bags of assits but for whatever reason it hasn't happened, he was piss poor Saturday except for the assist he provided for Clarke, but one assist doesn't make up for 70 mins of Bullshit!! (Wasn't there tonight couldn't get away from work) I can't comment on his performance tonight but from what I have read on this thread most people agree that he was again poor, Fleck to start Saturday I hope and will be very surprised if not..

Also well done Callum Wilson for tonight, I hope Callum gets more playing time between the now and the end of the season..

Again, his 1 goal v 23rd suggests that.

He had class last season, where he'd get a goal or something, now he doesn't even get that, sub-standard and he should eff off.

He sets up goals, as a winger he is (just about) carrying out his main role.

There are other players who get away with contributing very little but just because they're not McSheffrey get away with it.

How do you explain Stephen Jennings' continued place in the side? He can't pass, can't tackle, doesn't score, doesn't provide assists.

Answer to that is that they should both be dropped.

Doesn't Jennings have the same goals as McSheffrey anyway?

I've been saying it most of the season....McSheffrey is shit & offers us nothing.....

....Get rid at the end of the season & save a big chunk of wage bill......

Bye bye Gary....Thanks for your previous efforts, but this season you've just taken the piss & not earned even a fraction of your cash.

1 goal in open play all season tells you all you need to know. His legs have gone, can't tackle and so easily brushed off the ball.He is a pale shadow of the player he once was,and deep down he plays like he knows it as well.Missed an absolute guilt edged chance last night, and rarely looks like troubling the goal scoring charts. He is part of the cancer of failure that infests this club, that accepts mediocrity as par for the course.

Well baker has the same job on the right wing and he has chipped in with 14 goals this season

What about his assist to Clarke last Saturday?

He keeps popping up with them. Same as his cross to Elliott at MK.
Is it enough to warrant a place tho?
For me......no

I always try to support our players as they wear the shirt and as bad as they may play, I never BOO our players, thats just wrong. However, Gary McSheffrey was awful last night. Offered nothing, slow, looks half arsed etc etc. I was another who thought he would smash this league, run at defenders, chip in with 10+ goals and he just hasnt done that. I would now move him on.

I think the whole midfield is shit not just sheff. He gets the stick because its him.
Bailey,anonymous ,lightweight pretty boy
Moussa ,skilful but goes missing
Baker ,hit and miss . Throws tantrums far too easily , but does try his hardest.
Mcsheff skilful, though doesnt seem to try.runs into defenders and falls over.
Fleck. Cant even remember how shit as totally anonymous.
Thomas.jury out.
Barton. Inspector gadget lookalike without the go go gadget legs.

I think the whole midfield is shit not just sheff. He gets the stick because its him. - No it's because Sheffers has been poor, I could have battered him at Scunthorpe last Saturday.
Bailey, anonymous ,lightweight pretty boy - Should definately be involved more in terms of goals and contribution.
Moussa ,skilful but goes missing - Has improved the last few games has easily been one of our stand out performers this season
Baker ,hit and miss . Throws tantrums far too easily , but does try his hardest. - Bakes has now taken his tally of goals up to 14 for the season, with 11 in the league and 3 in the cup, the only wingers to beat this in England are Gareth Bale and Thomas Ince, so I think Bakes can be cut the slack.
Mcsheff skilful, though doesnt seem to try.runs into defenders and falls over. - As above.

Fleck. Cant even remember how shit as totally anonymous. - Needs more game time, generally when he has come on from the bench recently he has played well and had a impact, his best game came at Swindon earlier in the season, I think Flecky needs more game to progress.
Thomas.jury out. - Feel sorry for Conor he must have thought this was his season to start consistantly, but one thing after enough has hampered that, although like with Fleck when Conor hasw come on during games, especially against Spurs in the cup, he has played really well and shown his potential, again like Fleck needs game time.
Barton. Inspector gadget lookalike without the go go gadget legs. - Barton is a good player (As proved by his finish at Donny), very technically good, although I don't think he is tough enough for this league, Adam gets barged off the ball to easy and is man handled half the time.

compare him to our other winger and its doesnt look good, watching him live sheff has no confidence in himself anymore, he knows hes not fit enough for pro football anymore, hes not the cleverest of players so if he is not scoring then i can't find a case to pick him because he doesnt put enough work rate in to be called a midfielder, its quite sad that hes a passenger in the team now

I agree with the general view. But in a pub after the game at Bury, some Bury fans were overheard saying he "was the difference between the two sides." I am not sure that literally means that he was the best player on the pitch!

Sheffs role is different from the one he use to have. That must be remembered. He has not been brilliant at all but has contributed much more than you might think becuase so many are blinded by what they think he should be achieving. having said that overall he has been at best average and I would have expected a bit more than we are getting out of him.

It may be time to try Fleck and there are a couple of others who for me rarely have a good game such as Jennings who for the most part is not good enough in this company. I would welcome the return of Thomas! ...and for that Matter David Bell who at this level will chip in with goals.

McSheffrey clearly has underperformed this season.
If Baker can score 11 goals so far this season, then Macca should be on half a dozen
It might be time to move him on or try him up front.

A fast paced left footed winger would be very welcome
