He was poor on Saturday apart from the first 15 when he was linking with Adams. I am disappointed with him the most this year. I thought he would smash League 1

i think hes been decent this season. ok not scored much but i think he links up well with Adams. admittedly i wasnt at the yeovil game. more confident on the left than with christie and Baker (not a fan of his at all, granted he scores a few but he offers nothing else. and his range of passing is embaressing). id sort out the other side first!

Has baker not got both more goals and assists than mcsheffrey this season? Obviously offers more?

just dont see what he does. doesnt run at defenders and cannot pick out any defence splitting passes. he tends just to make sloppy passes and gives the ball away more than anyone in the team. in terms of quality Sheff is 10 times the player of baker. true in terms of effort baker puts in more. but id still rather sheff played if it was ever one or the other for a starting position

So why has he got more assists and goals?

Has fleck still got more assists too?

goal wise hes hit a few screamers but they always over shadow how poor his performances tend to be in those games. always convinced its more hit and hope with him too. and donot remember all that many assits to which he has contributed. if he does its a simple pass to a more talented teammate who has put the ball in the net.. if someone better was on that wing the assits would still come. as would probably the goals

What about when baker tracks back and makes tackles in the box? I would say he gets back better to help it most of the time!

They both do have some shocking long range attempts though

Is passing to a team mate to put it in the net not an assist and doing more for the team?

The stats make baker clearly a more dangerous player dont they?

For a player that has plied his trade in the top division his return this season is appalling ,however his workrate and input has been as good as most in the midfield, but i woul;d rest on the basis that his goals contribution is inadequate.

I do admit he has been a lot better this season then in phases of last season but last season could play badly but have a moment of class to get a goal!

If him and baker did shooting practise with both feet then when they cut in and shoot we could get loads more goals!

How has baker not contributed, hes stayed our captain for a reason.

I thought baker has hit at least 7 goals and at least the same assists.

And also he tracks back unlike mc sheffrey

Sheff has improved over the season, he was a joke early doors, his legs have gone but some of his play has been decent but its always a case of one thing good followed by something bad, hes never had a football brain which is a shame, he clearly wants to do well but hes just a very average league one player now. when the ball hits your head and you're sitting in row z its mcsheffrey

I think we have to recognise that Gary's best days are behind him.. that said I think he could do a job through the middle in this league.
On Saturday for example when we tried to play high balls for Clarke to win/head against the Jolly Green giant of a centre half I just couldn't understand it?
Most centre halves in this league are tall bruisers.... so perhaps a play round 'em not over 'em strategy is required... maybe a more mobile Macca/Elliot small man/small man forward line is worth a shot?
