Loads of boozers near their old ground. He'll be disappointed when he realises they've moved.

Yes he didn't do a lot for us in the past couple of seasons but we should wish him well.

Just looked at Chesterfield website. He's signed a short term 4 month deal until Jan with view to a long term deal after. Good luck to him. At his best did well for us tho was poor last season.

He was utterly shit for us last season....should've been dropped way before SP arrived & had the balls to bomb him out...

...Hes only 31....its a shame that hes dropped so far from the top of his game that he is now signing short term deals at a club in the 4th tier.....

Fair play to him, he's a family man, they will be proud even if most of us are not.

he should be awsome in division 2 ..but then again he should have been awsome for us in league 1..heres hoping he regains his form..he must owe me £200 in first goalscorer bets..so maybe a chance to recoup some losses on him

Gerrard Carr is a Coventry lad and is involved at Chesterfield, I am sure he is head of the academy...he may of played with Shef at CCFC in the youth or reserves I am sure he was at Cov.

When Pressley was talking about McDonald being up for the return against us, he said players should be up for every game, and if they are not he didn't want to work with them. I think McSheffrey fell into this category. Too many times since his return has he done OK for a couple of games then gone off the boil again. He was poor until dropped by Boothroyd, returned, scored a few, then went off the boil. Scored a few after Thorn moved him central, then went off the boil got injured again.

Glad he's gone. Substandard for the division, and if I'm being honest, we shouldn't have signed him in the 1st, his record at Leeds was terrible, like his second-coming for us whilst unfortunately, being on a wage that was one the highest at the club. I think his attitude wasn't good either, wasn't hungry enough for me. Which made him expendable.

That said, I'm grateful for memories before his move to Brum, when he was hungry, a quality winger and goal scorer back then.

Maybe he's found his level as he obviously couldn't cope with league one football.

We'll have to review this thread in January and see. How he's done

It obviously doesn't take much. But if posting stuff you see from 'newsnow' makes you feel like that, fair play.
