if we play 5-3-2, the wings wont be as important.

We have Willis, Clarke, Pugh, Philips and Haynes who can all play wing back

but thats just as bad, we either have to sign loans or we have to sign from the small number of frees who are willing to come to our messed up club with low wages (and again for the hard of thinking, this isn't saying free signings are all bad Grendel)

So it's not the fact that the loans are 6 months that bothers you? (given that a free would be for at least a year and are 'just as bad')
Really you are just bemoaning the state and current status of the club, right?

I am not blaming the boycotters I am saying that it must be what they want. If the club were signing championship players for lots of money then I would expect complaints as the nopm campaign would be folly. Nopm means one of two things

Sisu grovel back to the Ricoh

Sisu adopt a strategy of attrition and live in a budget to reflect income

They have chose the second option. It's stupid that this can then be criticised by supporters who want to prove their lack if support is having an impact.

I do agree most non sixfields attendees are not boycotters. They just can't go or can't be bothered as I will not be once winter sets in.

It's looking more like the first option to me G.

It being 6 months isn't a good thing certainly, but no thats not the main issue

yes im mostly bemoaning the state and current status of our club, being forced to sign lesser quality players due to a self inflicted and completely fruitless exile, I think all the signings we are making are a good thing in that I think it would be worse if we were failing in getting these signings and I belive that each decision Pressley is making is the best one he is in the position to make, he certainly knows far more about football than any of us. However we are extremely restricted in who he can sign because of the attractiveness of our club, our finances due to being in northampton and due to the fact despite lies to the contrary sisu have no intention of spending the money from wilson on players or wages.

Again if they did spend the Wilson money this would be a smack in the mouth for Kcic and nopm surely? If they do no it means they need this to use to subvent losses. Must be what you want while still at sixfields surely?

Without getting into politics or blame, let me ask you a straightforward question...
What quality of signing do you think we would now be making had we remained at the Ricoh and continued to pay the rent?

huh? of course not, the complete opposite is the case, if they don't spend the money being at sixfields is less of a financial burden to them. Due to selling Wilson, Clarke and the Arsenal game I'd have thought last season wasn't much of a financial burden at all and won't have gone anyway to pushing them to leave. Of course they are extremely unlikely to get a season like that again.

I'm not giving them my money though because I don't agree with supporting disgracefully scummy actions and I won't give them my money again this season, I do hope that making it worse for them financially will encourage them to go but last season was a bust in those regards for reasons already mentioned.

Getting pretty sick of these posts every time we are linked with Bournemouth players.

They are a club on the up, we are on the down. Very few clubs stay on the up for an eternity. Get over it.

much much better, I think we'd quite possibly be in the championship but even without that we'd both be a much more attractive proposition and be able to pay larger wages.

you think that the fact we are bringing in millions of pounds less ticket money, a minute percentage of previous sponsorship money, a tiny percentage of hospitality money and that our club is extremely unattractive to players due to playing 35 miles away in a league two quality ground in front of 2k fans instead of at the Ricoh in front of 11k doesn't affect the quality of player we are able to sign?

Do I think we'd mostly still be signing frees, yeah sure probably, but we'd have lost less quality players and we'd be able to attract the decent frees rather than the desperate sicknotes.

Until SISU show commitment to this club by investing the Wilson money and more in the team and getting us back to the Ricoh there is nothing to get exited about.

This club is dying and some people need to wake up and smell the coffee.

You are aware we made a trading loss of £7 million in our final season at the Ricoh and will lose money at sixfields even with this money?

McQuoid surplus to requirements?
Despite the long held desire for Josh McQuoid to fight for his place at AFCB it seems that he has not managed to hold a squad place for the coming season and will now go to Coventry City on loan, according to the Bournemouth Echo. It was going to be an up hill task for him to force his way back into Eddie Howe's plans but Josh played quite a few times over the summer as he regained his fitness and tried to sharpen his aim in front of goal. Looking at the AFCB goal scorers chart though for pre-season you won't see Josh's name among them and with Junior Stanislas and Callum Wilson bolstering the team the time seems right for Josh to see if he can play regularly elsewhere.

Coventry's manager, Steven Pressley has made no secret of his desire to capture McQuoid and it looks like he will have quite a strong AFCB second eleven playing for the sky blues with Allsop and Coulibaly already at the club on loan. Josh's contract will run out in may next year and it would be good for AFCB if they can recoup some money from his sale and the only way that has a chance of happening is if he is playing. Whether it leaves space for another player to come in at AFCB is not known but if anything I would not be surprised if one or two more could still go out on loan.

I think if Howe knows that a player is not going to be a big part of his plans then it is best that they are moved on and by doing that it opens the door for players like Sam Matthews, Josh Wakefield and Josh Carmichael to start trying to get appearances. It is a competitive world and not everyone is going to be able to get into this AFCB team. The signs are that a bit of trimming around the sides might not be such a bad thing.

We are not at the Ricoh though are we? or have I missed something? Continued to pay what? Its not about politics or blame in the first place. I love this passionate nonsense, and the unswerving belief that we are all in 1 of 2 camps. "S"

Can't be bothered to read most of the thread as I assume it's the usual load of rubbish, as for the signing everything I've heard about him is bad so hardly worth getting excited about. If this is one of the signings they were waiting on I'm not impressed.

I find comments like yours to be completely unacceptable, but then with people like you, and other elements of the losers collective on here, is it any wonder we are where we are. Sad times indeed.

i have to disagree with you chinny..i think we are all in the same camp, as we are all city fans..every one on here is passionate about city .

i also think we ALL want coventry city FC in coventry

but like most political issues , we just cant agree on how that should come about. NOPM or boycott or Attendant's or the hillers all have a point , just seems like the powers that be don't give a shit

im pleased were getting another forward, and hope he does well for us... as im back in england from september to december i would love to see him and the rest of city at the ricoh but thats just wishful thinking i guess

I like Costa.

The £7m loss thing is a red herring. As has been pointed out repeatedly it's based on a far higher wage bill and with no rent being paid.

There's no two ways about it: Sixfields is a disaster for the short term finances of the club. It was a strategic decision taken with full knowledge of its short term financial impact.

Yes - I don't live there anymore.

The coffee comment was a joke clearly but having lived in it for a large part of my life I find it a depressing, concrete reminder I guff disaster that is 60's architecture.

I will assess my life as a personal failure of I do not move a considerable distance away before my demise.

Before you get all hissy with me this does not mean I want the team to play away from coventry. I don't I want them back and then that would be one thing I like about coventry.
