Only a matter of time. Pressley to Notts County ? if so He'll follow and the club wont have to pay him off.

They seem to be sticking with Moniz.

Would have thought Pressley will be looking for a job North of the border.

I think that's what the club has called for now due to not wanting to pay McFarlane up his contract.. They will wait for Pressley to get a new job then let him go with him instead of having to pay him 4 years up.. Then Venus will move to assistant manager .. Others thoughts?

It is hard to say, how can we judge an assistant manager?

He might fancy staying a bit longer and learning from TM and Venus, etc?

Mickey Adams kept Heath and brought Cork in as coach rather than assistant, as he'd always been before.

Could just be that after working with him for a bit, he figured he's not actually a bad Assistant Manager... and / or he considers the role he's giving Venus to be more important.

Wouldn't see a conspiracy here, tbh... unless we'd rather not have someone set up the scouting network, but have Venus as Assistant?

Venus will be McFarlands gaffer, maybe he will coach the first team, maybe the U21s. He will do what he is told to do.

Didn't Mowbray suggest he wasn't looking at reducing back room staff but adding to it? He's made it quite clear the infrastructure was stripped to the bone...he believes you need the right personel to create the right professional environment.

A good point

TBH, with mainly new players coming in, it doesn't matter if McFarlene is here, as it's almost a clean slate.

Unless only SP was the problem.....

I suppose there's always the possibility that TM believes he is a good assistant and wants to retain his services.

I presume Mark Proctor will come in to replace Hockaday?

Nah, Pressley to Blackpool or Leyton Orient would be a safer bet

Blimey don't Blackpool have enough problems already.

i imagine that Venus is going to be pretty busy in the next few months setting up the scouting network etc
