I enjoyed reading his comments saying we should be holding out for £10-15m for our players and hopefully only sell one and not two

Listened to the full thing on the ifollow site. He does say what the telegraph have quoted but in a very relaxed way. He thinks he deserves it but we know Robins is not exactly sentimental. I've listened to him interviewed before as well and they are always good to listen to as he seems like someone who has never had any sort of press training. Says exactly what he thinks

His performances have declined in the second half of the season. If that trajectory continues I don't see him as starting next season. He would be useful from the bench if defending a lead and having the ball hoofed into the box. I am surprised his comments too, which I don't think will win him any favours with the management.

I see a replacement for JCS but that is it. I can't see how he is going to go out and get more CB's than we had this season regardless.

I know we need to strengthen there, but if we want stronger CB's then we have to move out some of the ones we have, and is that going to happen? Who knows.

We've been running one too few this season though. One of them even necessarily have to be auto first choice, but backup who can grow and become first choice down the line.

This is what I'd like too in an ideal world. Two CB's in - one starter and the other development/bench.
We're one or two injuries away from having Sheaf or Dabo playing there again

Yeah I know it's rough and ready, but we need Rose injury free and top form as a result, Hyam to keep improving, new CB to drag them both up, McFadzean as first reserve for first half of season, with other CB second reserve, developing and growing as the season goes on to take over from McFadzean as first reserve, and start to push Rose / Hyam for that first team place by the time the season ends.

Of course it's not ideal, but that would all be improvement in both depth, first team, and potential going forward.

I think he was playing with niggling injuries to help the team
Great leadership but of course it doesn't help his own cause when contracts are up for negotiation
Fadz came through non-league so has a different view of life to teammates who graduated from Academies and never had to do a job other than football

So with him staying, honestly how do people think we are going to bring in two or three new CB'S. Unless we see Rose sold I just cannot see how we can expect to have several new bodies in that position.

If the club have got Fadz on the cheap wages wise (which appears the case) then that's clever use of the budget and allows more flexibility elsewhere. If we don't have him, then acquiring someone new of any quality will use up more of the budget, leaving less for elsewhere. If you want the squad strengthening, then this ought to be a good thing.

I hope they offer him improved terms, I get he had an automatic extension on the same terms but he's a much more important player for us than some others (albeit we don't know what his starting position was like).

You do wonder whether he's got other options....

While I'm happy for him to stay, as he is a more physical centre-half and his experience and leadership help, i wouldn't want to offer him better terms because at that age the legs can go almost anytime.

it's a quandary because he seems to play better with a run in the side but I can't see him being able to do huge amounts of games in a short period of time.

We need to be looking for his long term replacement and I wouldn't want us resigning him to not leave us with the wage capacity to bring them in.

He hasn't got legs to go to start with so I'm not really sure what you're on about. He's the best centre back at the club and even by the manager's own admission was pots prior to Christmas.

without the back 3 is a lot poorer. He’d never had any speed. He has experience which he can still use.

So we can have 5 AMs (O’Hare, Bright, Allen, Shipley, Jones) going into a season but not 5 CBs?

Well if you are getting picky we went into the season with 6 CB’s. Fadz, JCS, Hyam, Rose, Drysdale, Pask

Hey, I don't make the rules kid. We obviously need to strengthen at CB, but I cannot see two signings coming in that are better than we currently have without at least one going out. You have to remember that the CBs we currently have around the squad this season are all first teamers too. Shipley, Bright, and Jones are not and all need to be replaced still.

I am really not sure where this idea is that we are going to keep the CBs that we have and add a load on top of it when the budget is so tight and Robin's rates them all. One of them and Drysdale need to go out ideally for this to happen.

I'm glad you're not in charge of recruitment.

Given we're down to 3 CBs come the summer it'll be the thinest area of the squad?

How many are we loosing as it stands? Just one in JCS isn't it?

What makes you think Robins is going to ensure we have more CB's than this season? I´m not saying we don't need to, but at present I just can't see how it is going to happen. Frankly the comment about being head of recruitment is just a bit silly. It is the reality of the situation we are in.

We aren't losing him as an option though this season are we? He was on the bench twice all season? It's like saying we need to replace dacosta.

Earlsdon is rarely right but from the cb's we have, we are only losing JCS as an actual part of the team. We do however need 2 new CB's in my view but not sure we will be able to get them.

No as Pask's contract is up and Drysdale will more than likely be moved on given he's 22 and barely even featuring for Ross County.

If we only bring in one CB we'll have zero depth in this position and in turn Robins will be forced to use players who aren't natural to the position as a makeweight.

Granted the situation with recruitment is precarious given several high earners are still under contract but with a player sale that issue should in theory be mitigated somewhat.
