I don't understand how he could score against Birmingham with such composure, and not be able to score with his feet against League 1 teams? :thinking about:

because he didn't have the opportunity?

he's had more than enough opportunities in the 4 league games. Several in the Yeovil game.

I'm not having a go at him, it's just something that's hard to understand. You would think in a big derby, he would get stars in his eyes when he scored his goal when he can't score in the league?

He had one opportunity yesterday which I thought he did well to get on the end of. Other than that, no opportunities.

doth ink he will score quite a few but he has fluffed 4-5 very good chances so far this season. Yes he did create the majority of those himself but that doesn't excuse the poor finishing.

That's my point, but people are jumping to statistics. I just meant why cant he put the simple chance away

So why not have 9/10 passes to his feet?

I agree, we're too eager to kick it long. They're centre backs dealt with every one yesterday. We must've had 10 long throws yesterday and they came to nothing. We work one short, play some good passing and McGoldrick wasn't too far away with a volley.

Keeping possession and waiting for the right pass is far more effective that a long, aimless hoof. I lost count how many of these Hussey played yesterday. It also puts the opposition under more pressure to do something with it when they've got the ball. One problem with this is that if we're pressured and go back to the keeper, half our fans go into a frenzy and start booing!

what simple chances? the chances he makes come from his good play he's very unlucky he's hit inside of the post so many times here. yeovil was the first game against league 1 opponents so he should be let off Sheffield are a decent outfit, he had one opportunity against bury and the goalie got lucky as his arm clipped it as he was landing.

He's a professional striker, who should be able to kick a ball inside a net. Agreed, you get deflections and close shots, but in the end, you should put at least one away

he's put 2 so surely that's fine? he's not going to score every match simple and he hasen't had more than one decent chance in each game basically apart from yeovil as far as im concerned

He had. 2 chances yesterday one hit the bar! The other was a header with no power, he needs balls to feed off!!! When he was taken off yesterday mcsheffrey played 3 balls into the box that would have been perfect for him! Sadly his substitution yesterday was the moment we lost the game!!! We still had half hr to play as well!!!

I did think he came off early yesterday, but a few players did look a bit jaded. It was nice to see Shaw trying to change it though. If that had been Thorn I doubt we'd have seen a sub until the 80th minute. I think we should change the entire team for Burton. Give our 1st team a break and a chance for the subs and reserves to state their case.
