I saw Maya I think it was on Parkinson in the 70's and she changed my life. I come on here and regret my stupidity but the world has become apathetic, or at least in the UK.
Maya was a little known poet and activist when I first met her and I never, in a million years, thought she would become the star she became. But saying that I often think white people don't understand her as her poems seem 'pro-black' 'anti-white', She was instrumental in bringing verse, and sometimes humour, to our sad world. She lit the sky and shines like the stars.
A truly beautiful person missed
