Without Max and the goals in the closing stages of the L2 season, we simply wouldn't have been promoted - and that could have been a real disaster - just look at Notts County today.

And Max certainly didn't look out of place in L1 after he was over a very serious injury. He's always stepped up. The goal against Peterborough was personally my favourite moment of last season.

It's astonishing that some posters on here (usual suspects who clearly live to see others not make the grade due to their own failings in life) seem to want players like Max to fail.

The reverse logic of course is he went over one thousand minutes without a goal and someone decent would have avoided a play off lottery

Basically CET had to get some clicks today on transfer deadline day as they knew jack all was happening, so cooked something up.

Andy Turner has admitted there wasn't actually any news at all.

Agreed but the Tweet claiming big news & the follow up with no news at all were 20 mins apart, no way it changed that quickly.

Pure bullshit clickbait from the Telegraph as always.
Shameful.

Your bias is so weird. And you try so hard to tell people why they shouldn’t like Biamou, as if they’re not allowed a different opinion on him to you. Give it up man, people like him.

My daughters first game...she’s not been back.
Not quite the worst ground I’ve been to, I think that accolade belongs to Walsall’s old ground but yes, pretty grim. It just rained.
Good goal from Max. The only other memorable moment was ‘that save’ from Burge.

Definitely not the best game for introducing a youngster to the sport.
The mix and match colouring of the seats genuinely made me feel nauseous.

The only time at a game I have actually stood in water. The boards on the temporary terracing were warped and concave and filled with a few centimetres of rain water. I have been in Fellows Park, Walsall's old ground, but I still would rate the Newport ground as the worst I have been in.
Great goal from Max, great save from Burge though.

Fellows Park! Went to watch Pompey there and remember a stream of piss coming out of the portakabin toilet, down the terrace, and a sheer drop at the back of the terrace. Also remember a panting Mick Quinn looking completely ‘done in’ and unfit when going up for a corner.
Newport was pretty bad but the weather didn’t help.
I remember being furious for a good part of the season. FGR away was a stand out moment of feeling angry for me. Think it made our promotion all the sweeter.

I though Newport was worse than Fellows park though I do remember a wall collapsing in the away end when Liverpool played there and Souness having to carry a young fan to the St.Johns people for attention because he'd been crushed

I really enjoyed the whole day at Newport. Probably helps that it’s a close one for me and I was blind drunk. For the first half I was stood next to some girl whose boyfriend had bought her along for her first game, image that as your introduction to city.

Yeah it’s a close one for me too...hence getting my daughter along. She was not happy.
I was really looking forward to going to see us at Swansea, cardiff and Bristolthis year. Ah well...

I really don’t see the obsession - STP made a couple of factual arguments and these also get trampled on

I don’t care either way but it’s a bit odd that the supporters of him can’t see a move is pretty vital for him this season

I think the problem is with any fans favourite player. Is you want him to do well.

Personally I think he deserves game time so a loan to L1/2 would have been a good move. As we could always recall if we needed him.

He’s at the end of his contract this year so I am surprised if he’s not pushing a move

Controversial opinion here but sometimes I like players for reasons other than their goals/minute ratio.

Thought Biamou was dogshit when he first joined, but he ended up scoring a disproportionate amount of thunderbastards, bicycle kicks and late winners/equalizers. Plus he always seemed to be smiling and wouldn't mind if weirdos like me struck up a chat when you ran into him at games. If you can't root for a guy like that, despite everything else, maybe you watch the game for different reasons than me.
