Sky Blues have 'obligation' not 'option' to buy Ben Sheaf

Arsenal midfielder Ben Sheaf has become Coventry City's ninth summer signing

I think you're very very wrong on Sheaf, but that's besides the point. I think James is a Kelly replacement anyway, not a Sheaf replacement, but I'd still take Sheaf over him if he was due to his resale value.

Being greedy I'd have all 3 + Hamer & that gives us some great options. £750k (if true) is a snip for a player of Sheaf's quality & potential.

@shmmeee thanks for finding the article, MR says in the interview, “So it’s not an option to buy, more an obligation....." and “But like I say, there’s certain criteria to be met"

I wonder what the criteria is though, number of starts, number of appereances...? What if Sheaf isn't that keen on signing anyhow!?

I think we'll agree to disagree on who's the better player as I just don't rate Sheaf with the games I've seen him play.

I don't think James would be a Kelly replacement as Kelly still has at least a couple of years in him at this level, he reads the game so well, I believe James would be signed to bolster the squad/1st team regardless.

I understand where you're coming from re. resale value but I just don't see it myself sadly.

I get that. Donny fans were split on him too, he’s that kind of player.
