For City in the championship

Played 33
Goals 12

1 goal every 169 minutes

He's every bit a championship striker , let's add to the fact he won 2 of the 3 penalties he scored
And let's also remember he was playing whilst being not fully fit last season .
He's comfortably a 15 goal a season man , even in this league .

Argument over I believe
Super matty godden

Side note : we have 3 strikers ALL capable of scoring 10-20 goals in this league .

how many clubs have that outside the top 6 ?

Said as a joke the other week that he’ll overtake Gyok at some point and finish top scorer. I actually think he might now.

I think vik will still score 20 , he will get 1 and then carry on scoring again.. his workrate is immense , this 2 week break will do him good as he never had 1 last time

He’s been called up to sit on Sweden’s bench again. With Ibrahimovic back he’s 5th choice striker

I hope so. Int’l break has stalled his season imo. Hopefully he’s refreshed after this one, he won’t be used. Even if he’s in form though, there’s only one player I’d choose to have Godden’s chance yesterday, and that’s Godden. Our most natural finisher.

My only gripe about Godden is his celebrations. He needs to make his mind up. Is he a plane or is he lawn mowing. After the penalty he seemed to launch into the air to do a CR7 realised what he was doing and changed his landing accordingly! The third saw him whooping and stripping. Sort it out Matty.

What better person to give him advice about ending his drought than Zlatan though?

The instinct is to run to singers corner, but I’d have loved a knee slide in front of their fans.

Our players continue to surprise us.

To score goals at this level require nerves of steel.

Watch his goals....left foot or right 90 plus minutes. His first touch is his shot. Doesnt take unessacary touches.

Hes been immense.

Oh dont forget that cross for Viktor vs Fulham, wont see a better cross all season.

Also in my eyes had a perfectly good second goal vs Derby denied by lino.

He plays in the Championship as a striker and scores goals. There is no argument!

Such an intelligent footballer.

Plain and simple, best natural finisher at the club followed closely by Walker.

Viktor yesterday was obvious he was going down and was never gonna shoot as he has no left foot. This is where Godden stands out slightly.

He's looking a bit trimmer than he has done in the past as well, he isn't quick by any means but was very sharp to get on to that ball from Kelly

Mentally quick though. That diving header from the set piece the other week where you just know he saw the opposition playing him onside. (Can't remember who that was against at the mo haha).

The bloke hasn’t got much pace , but he makes up for it with intelligent movement and the runs he makes like yesterday. Certainly holding his own in this division.

Gyorkeres was excellent yesterday he’s closely marked now with two defenders on him all the time but still managed to break free to get that penalty

The lack of pace now could benefit him into having a longer career at a higher level

That header was insane. It needed to have counted just for that. Standing jump, against a bigger defender from 10yards out. Unreal

Signed a new contract. Ker ching.....

Can see a promoted club next season, or a club trying to stay up this season....like a Hull or Posh. Trying to buy a striker like Walker or Godden.

They cant go wrong even if they went down to league 1 they would score 20 in that division.

We actually have genuine assets all over the pitch.

Best of all about all our strikers and team in general is they all look they want to play for the City.
Just a solid bunch of lads.

Love Godden but doubted him at this level just turned 30 with an injury history, watching him yesterday I think we may well see a fully fit Godden, the movement and finish for his second yesterday was just top draw

His late winner in one of the early games was pure instinct, left foot finish cool as you like deep in injury time. Big fan
