For. All his lack of being on the fringes, what an impact he made,
The understanding with COH goes back to league one so the one two with a brilliant header to lay onto matts boot on a plate was the 1 moment of real quality in the game.

So you're back to say mpg isn't a good metric again now it doesn't support your viewpoint...

Averages similar to Brereton per 90 ..
Not sure how much we can look into the pass stat tbh ..more how a team plays isn't it ?

MPG is a fair measurement of how you are doing over a long period of time .. your argument holds weight if its after about 3 matches .

Even away from minutes per game , it's 18 in 45 games at this level for us which is a fantastic return at Championship level and arguibly the best record of any striker here since relegation from the premiership in this league .. there's no argument to be had here is there ?

If mpg is a fair measure Tyler Walker is a 22 goal a season championship striker

There is no figure that shows Walker as a 22 goal championship striker for us atleast

His GPM ratio suggests he could score 16 goals should he play 90 minutes every match over 46 matches .. I'd say that's not too unreasonable .

Walker has 9 goals in 50 championship appearances

A goal every 248 minutes

But let's agree with you that it's not a fair argument , you keep swerving the Main point ...

Godden has 18 goals in 45 championship appearances for us .

Now what argument do you have ?

Only 13 from open play though.
Gyokeres has 14 this season and not one was a pen.

He can finish, but generally his general play is pretty poor. He did play well yesterday though.

Which brings us back to the minutes played .. and why is necessary.

Best thing for people like you , grendel and parks to do is admit you're a bit wrong here

Godden has 1 less league goal with 1400 less minutes played this season

For context , that's 15 matches..

The stats themselves indicate he would score more than 4 from open play in 15 matches

He was 4 less from open play. Gyokeres doesn't take pens, apart from the first game of the season.

Godden would score more than 4 in 15 matches from open play going off his current strike rate .. keep going youre still losing the row

Somebody get on the phone to Ronaldo , Messi and kane and tell them to chalk off their penalties because in 2022 they don't count anymore

You said in your first post godden averages a goal every 224 minutes in the championship from open play.

This season, gyokeres is averaging a goal every 222 minutes from open play.

I've already said he is a good finisher, but there are a lot of games , like Hull for example where he offers absolutely nothing in our general play and is a passenger, whilst Viktor is always a menace.

If he's our best striker ever in the Championship, we should be looking at a tidy sum over the summer.

Vik scores every 244 minutes from open play during his time at ccfc , I did goddens goal per minute from open play based on his entire period here ..

This season godden has a goal every 183 minutes from open play ..

How do you want to go with this argument stu ? Because either way you turn you are going to be wrong mate .. cheers

We should get at least £8m for him from one of the relegated teams in the summer.

Do you realise that his goal record here in this league would have him top 10 goalscorer every year for the last 10 years .

Unless you've got something productive to contribute besides trying to be grendel 2.0 .. then hush

In that case we'll be able to get a fee that'll allow us not to sell other players.

Clubs generally dont go out their way to spend 8 million on 30 year olds with recurring plantar fasciitis

Strangely bud , we've got football brains at the top of our football club , and people that got him in .. that see it fit to play matty godden ahead of gyokores as a sole striker and with gyokores in a partnership, they never really leave him out ..

Maybe you , parks , stu and grendel should be on the blower and give them your superb input , I'm sure they'd love a good laugh

I'm arguing with fans about why our 18 in 45 goalscorer is good enough for this league..

I can get question marks over his all round contribution but not his goal scoring.

And that is all that anyone has questioned... finishing good, all round contribution can be lacking

And as a team we have win more games without Godden in the team and win far more with Gyokeres in the team.
