We looked set fair for an OK season early on, didn't we. My memory really is shot to confuse the two(!) but it was... Sunderland / West Ham we beat just before he was flogged, wasn't it.

Not saying we'd have pulled up any trees, and it was downright stupid to remove Black given what he'd done, but Reid did have a half-decent managerial record up to that point. Not just losing Davenport, but demotivating further a manager whose heart wasn't really in it anyway was a double whammy.

Davenport had an excellent game as he knew it was his last, Andy Morrell of all players scored a fabulous winner.

I did not like him he was like Reading are this perfect thing and he did not give us any credit at all for that

Honestly find it amazing how much people seem to care about TV commentators (who I rarely notice) and pre/post-match panels. Genuinely didn't realise people watch this stuff and actually get worked up about it.

Nice to have picked up £300k for the privilege though, and because they’ve been entertaining we’ll get at least a few more!

Loved the comment from the NTTT pundit after the game when he said we should be on every Friday night because Hamer is ‘Box Office’

Didn’t realise he’d actually grown up in the Netherlands instead of just moving to Zwolle

Those NTTT guys should be presenting some of the Sky sports games full stop. Whilst being impartial, they're both very knowledgable and generally more entertaining than the usual people they get on their shows.

I thought the sky commentary was OK, the pundit they had was decent

Definitely, their podcasts are always worth a listen and their stat based analysis looks at some stats that aren’t always highlighted by the usual pundits. Very Moneyballesque.

Hope you are joking! Until the NTTT guys came on the punditry was shocking. The gulf in quality between what Sky can roll out for the Prem and Championship is unbelievable.

To be fair I’d have Paul Cook on again.

Agree wholeheartedly, except I thought Reid’s record was garbage.

Failed at Man City, Sunderland and Leeds. I would bet he also spent big with little return whilst at those clubs
An absolute shitter of a decision by the red nosed clown to replace Black and bring that demotivated clown in.

HE wasn’t all bad though, I think he took Sunderland down

Sunderland had their highest finish for about 40 years under him, after he saved them from relegation to the third tier, and won them promotion to the top flight. Man City were 5th, 5th and 9th at a time when they had no money.

Wouldn't mind some of that garbage.

Correct, he was certainly just looking for a quick payday by the time he reached CCFC though

I don’t mind the commentators, in fairness. Generally, I don’t know why they don’t have two impartial and knowledgable guests who will talk about the football.

It was nice having Paul Cook back us up a bit, especially compared to Matthew Mills’ obvious bias.

The NTTT guys would be good.

Cook was pissing himself when putting the Sky Blue side in - he knew whatever Mills said was a bias player view

The Co commentator was fine, he was fair about us.
