My interpretation of this interview is that the move is not all about the money. I think learning from Frank is a major personal driver for Matt Grimes. Thoughts?

Why would someone who is nearly 30 want to learn from Frank? It's about the money, and prospect of playing for a playoff chasing team.

Yes, the money, yes, playing for a playoff-chasing team and I'm sure he'll want to learn. It doesn't matter what age you are, you can always learn.

At nearly 30 he will be thinking about life after his playing career is over. He can learn a lot on the coaching side of things.

Swansea are very much a mediocre championship team that is not too dissimilar to us before we got relegated.

Add a player like Grimes to our setup and we’ll comfortably be a better side and serious playoff contenders. It’s an upgrade for Grimes professionally in the exact same way Hamer and COH upgraded goi my to Sheff U.

Likely Swansea are not too motivated to get the paperwork done either, unless a caveat of the signing, but even then things happen that would make that difficult to enforce.

I think we should temper the expectation of Grimes on the strength of Swansea fans who say he's great but thought Gyokeres was crap

Its probably even worse than Hamer as Hamer went to a PL club, granted one that was destined to come straight back down but he’s definitely been noticed after his performances in the PL and Sheff U are pricing clubs out of a deal my mates a Leeds fan and said they offered 20m up to 25m and Sheff U said they wanted 36m

If the 'signings have been excellent' why have we been struggling at the wrong end of the table all year and had to sack a manager?

A few wins and people lose their minds.

Robins couldn’t decide who to play or how all season.

Results have almost immediately picked up as soon as he joined. Now, things seem to be developing nicely now he was more contact time between games to coach the players.

Robins is a legend and always will be, however, he made a lot of mistakes this season that led to his downfall.

Swansea players angry their skipper has been allowed to leave whilst trying to turn their form around.
Stated only 3 players said goodbye suggestion being they are pissed off with him too.

They will be pumped for Saturday imo....

He's been at Stoke for 3 mins. If I use the same logic , FC L born into privilege and nepotism and keeps on getting jobs on what basis, gets the breaks. Reminds me of how a lot of people in the UK have such severance towards those scroungers at Buck Palace.

That's a bit harsh.
Swansea have done great in recent times and play good football too. Much smaller place than Coventry.

Yeah exactly this. Imagine it’ll be ‘couldn’t be registered in time’. Shame as we want the announcement but makes sense.

Whilst I agree to most, I've been convinced Jamie Allen was 33 since he arrived here. In reality he's only 6 months older than Grimes. He's not as good, but has shown his value in recent weeks as a ready made back up to step into the breach. Squads need players like Allen (no fuss get on with it, train hard and team player), so it will depend on his own ambitions to play regularly.

I said this the other day I thought he was 32.

At times Goddens finishing put Gyokeres to shame.

Godden was absolutely crucial to us going from a league 1 team to a top half Championship side

Godden is a club legend without doubt. That team that one league one is very disrespected for some bizarre reason
