I can honestly say a lot of the opinion hasn’t changed it’s been pretty consistent over the last few seasons. He’s Very frustrating for them to watch as they want a midfielder to run and tackle and he doesn’t really do that. But is great with the ball, probably like a thin Jan Molby for those old enough to remember. Hopefully if there’s legs in this he is what we need and the coaches get him to work a bit harder than he has had to at Swansea.

With him to score the winner, kiss the CCFC badge and shush all their fans after running past their manager smiling?

No. All he needs to do is to say he's not Welsh anymore.

Swansea look a bit screwed. Both Darling and Cabango have contracts running out in the summer too. Sinking ship looking from the outside.

Just cannot see DK splashing £millions on a 29 year old. Really hope I'm wrong as I have said on here for a few years how much I would like him here.

Mate, they love him.

It's the hurt of him leaving.

I've seen Grimes play both against us and live on TV in other games and he is a really, really good player.

Surely if he's actually asking to go then there's no real turning back?

Agree there. Allen is now in a position where if his contract is extended and he is asked to cover a run of games then none of us would complain at all, however would we want him as a permanent player in that position probably not.

He deserves a contract extension, imo. A good role player and leader, even if I had written him off earlier in the season. If we sign Grimes and another CM then the case for moving him along becomes stronger.

Grimes is the kind of signing that is probably the immediate replacement if Sheaf was to go. I’m not sure how we’d look to fit in Torp-Grimes-Sheaf-Rudoni at the minute.

We don’t need him to run around like a headless chicken. We need a player comfortable enough taking the ball off the centre halves and mobile enough to carry it and play a forward pass. The stats line up that he is the man for that

His stat line is similar to Hamer’s for us in 22/23 so it’s exactly the signing we need.

This one could get done quick, think probably been in the pipeline for s few weeks. Hopefully no shock demands crop up. I would also like to keep BTA around at least until the summer, he is an asset to the squad and while he is with us cant hurt us. Blackburn is not a club id sell too looking a head for the rest of the season.

Giving @Saddlebrains his due, this is the midfielder he was talking about and if we have bid twice already it's pretty far down the line.

Also as has been said if he really has asked to leave then it hopefully should be done soon.

Yeah - probably means Allen dropping into the periphery again.

Torp, Rudoni and Sheaf will be big beneficiaries playing alongside. He'll knit everything together

One of those will not get regular 1st team so will leave. Sheaf you would think. Allen stays as a good understudy

I mean, his numbers look great. But he’s played over 300 times for Swansea and we wants to come to us for better wages? How many players spend majority of their career with one club and continue that elsewhere?

Signing replacements before the player actually leaves. Same as we did with Simms for Gyokeres.
