This one seems to be genuine and probably deserves it's own thread.

His passing stats are ridiculous.

What kind of fee are we talking here? Presumably he'd be one of our highest earners too.

He would be a smart bit of business and sounds like we could offer more in wages . 29 last decent move if its nore money he will be knocking the managers door

Obviously would be an incredible boost to the club.

However, I really don't like the pivot away from targeting younger players as a transfer philosophy. Need to stay consistent with the approach.

To me, it is telling and it sounds like King is getting desperate and may go for broke for promotion in the next year or two.

most successful teams have always had a blend of younger and more experienced players, this one less likely to leave also after one good season

We do need older players along side the younger ones

There's no pivot at all, just good sense.

Nonsense.

Grimes could have 3/4 years in the tank still minimum.

It’s clear that leadership and experience has been lacking this year which is why we’ve looked so much better with Kitching Allen and Bidwell in

But then one of the common concerns we've had all season has been the relative lack of experience and senior leadership in and around the squad, certainly since we moved on Kelly, Godden and and McFadzean.

Buying young promising talent is all fine and good as a transfer model in the long run, but getting a few experienced heads in as well can't be a bad thing.

Not at all. An experienced pro brings on the others and so their value goes up. I think Callum Doyle etc improved playing alongside Fadz.

Naive to only sign one type of player and has been our downfall this season.

Brighton are the best in the country at developing young talent to sell, but still signed Lallana, Milner, Welbeck etc to help the squad.

You've got to have a mix of youth and experience in the squad, and hopefully Lampard has identified the lack of a proper captain who can lead by example and rally the team when things get tough.

I agree though that this is the kind of signing you make when you're planning to make a real go of it in the next one or two seasons.

Nah, we all know that you can't put together a squad or even 11 players that are young lads with potential. You need experienced heads in there too. Throughout DK's reign, we've had a couple of older heads in the squad.

The transfer policy will remain the same in the main. But when someone like Sheaf is likely to move on, we need to replace his qualities and experience.

Any highlight reels? Is he CDM or more of where torp and Rudoni have been playing?

As clarification to my earlier post, I agree with all of you that you need a blend of young and experienced players to have an effective squad and help develop those younger players.

However, my point is more about spending transfer funds, especially at a winter window premium amount, on those older guys. Those more experienced players need to be developed in house, found on free transfers, or targeted in shrewd moves in the summer when contracts are winding down. Not a 29-year-old who is signed through 2027.

If we were already sitting top 6, I would get this move a lot more within the larger transfer and club strategy in chasing promotion. While we are certainly within striking distance now six points out, it feels like we are putting the cart before the horse.

I agree with sentiment, but we have to flex. This would tick multi boxes, experience, ability to progress / receive / pass.

Also ticks box of replacement for sheaf ahead of summer. Would be really sensible signing and hes a bloody good player!!!!

Expect us to do some more foreign shopping in summer, younger, potential model.

Hopefully he is unsettled by this and can’t play against us.

This would be a very good signing.
