Barnsley v Coventry - Oakwell

Barnsley V Coventry - head to head

Bank Holiday Monday will be the 52nd time that Coventry City and Barnsley have met in league and cup matches. The Sky Blues have won on 25 occasions with 15 draws and have scored 90 goals compared to Barnsley's 63.
Oakwell has proved a lucky ground for the Sky Blues of late with four successive wins in the last four visits. Last season, City went top of the league with a 2-0 victory thanks to goals from Leon Best and Clinton Morrison.

My Predictions

Formation

Westwood
Keogh, McPake, Cameron, Wood
Lukas.J, Doyle, Carsley(C), McSheffrey
Eastwood, Platt

Score: 3-0 (Eastwood Hat-trick)

Attendance: 14,210

Any match day predictions/banter please post here.

I'll go for 2-0 Sky Blues, we normally beat Barnsley home and away. I thought Freddy was our stand out player yesterday, he seems to have picked up some pace and it baffles me as to why he didn't come on sooner against QPR. Against Ipshit he was working his socks off and looked like our biggest threat to goal, didn't look like he had any fitness problems at all, looked the fittest out there so again why did he come on so late v QPR (after Wilson as well!!)

Goalscorers: Eastwood, McSheffrey

I'll go for the same formation as La La La except I think I will have Lukas and Freddy upfront as that was working well at the start of the season and have Platt come on for the last 25 mins or so for a bit of impact depending on circumstances and then David Bell on the right who can maybe be replaced by Baker later on because from yesterday I'm not sure Bell is 100% fit yet. The left back position is still an issue but I don't particularly want to see Cranie playing there either, hopefully O'Halloran can get match fit sooner rather than later. King will be missed for 3 games but we won games without him at the start of the season so I'm not too worried, Freddy and Lukas are capable of scoring goals at this level. Also does anybody know if his 3 match ban includes the FA Cup or is it just league games??? Will be good if he can play against Palace for a bit of squad rotation and to keep him fully match fit.

Also guys Gunnarsson is back after serving his 3 match ban (Cardiff, QPR, Ipswich) so swap Bell for Gunnarsson on the right.

On current form and away from home I think City would be lucky to salvage a point.

0 - 2 to Barnsley

(Mind you I've been wrong all season so far )

It's today alright!!

Team is as you'd expect i guess...

Westwood, Keogh, Wood, McPake, Cameron, Gunnarsson, Carsley (c), Doyle, McSheffrey, Platt, Eastwood

Think we'll pick up a win today, Eastwood to bag another goal. Definitely need to win it!

This is getting pathetic - and we really seem to playing aweful of late.
I feel that Aidy needs to change some of his tactics because teams have found out how to play against us and also we need to get a few quality loan signings to add some much needed quality to the side

Who went today then ? How did we play ? From the telly I took it as they scored, it picked us up a bit, then we scored and went off the boil....Is that about the jist of it ?

I was a bit gutted listening to bits of it.

It sounded as if McSheffrey was dire again, Gunnar missed a great chance at the end and our defence was sloppy.

I didn't go so I can't say this is how it was but maybe some of the dire hards can let us know
