Coventry City v Leeds United - Ricoh Arena
K.O Saturday, 6th November 3:00pm
Referee: Keith Stroud from Hampshire

Coventry City - (4th) 24points

Have an impressive record against Yorkshire teams this season beating Barnsley and Sheffield United. Freddy Eastwood and Chris Hussey played 90 minites for the reserves and could feature for Saturdays game. This game is expected to be a massive one with Leeds bringing 6,200 selling out their whole allocation this should make for a good atmosphere attracting more Coventry fans to come to the game.

Home Form: WDLWLW

Leeds United - (12th) 20 points

Leeds (league 1 runners up) are currently settled 12th in the championship and beat Sc-u-n-t-horpe 1-4 (away) and have an impresive away league record

Away form : WLdLWW

My Predictions

Formation

K.Westwood
Keogh Turner Wood Cranie
Gunnarson Carsley(C) Clingan McSheffrey
Jutkiewicz Platt

Score : 3-1 (Mcsheffrey, Gunnarson, Platt)

Attendance: 25,173

Any match day discussion, Predictions please post here

Well what can i say, i cannot believe how excited about this game i am. Maybe it's the thought of a packed house, cracking atmosphere, or is it the genuine belief that is growing after each passing game. Not sure on how to call it though, they seem better away than at home, but we have a steel spine now, and we fight like never before. It's gonna be tight i think, so i'm gonna go 2 - 1 cov, with sheffers against the club who didn,t rate him and King off the bench to net the winner!

k.westwood
keogh wood turner cranie
sheffers carsley clingan gunna
plattini duke

I can see us beating them with it being 2-0 to us. Quite a close game but I reckon King will snatch one!

27,000 Tickets sold. They've opened the corner between the CET & the Tesco stand.

3-1 City, so excited.

That's great news about them opening the corner. I really hope we win because we're all used to the old city getting the whole place excited and then letting us down, but this season seems really different. Lalala, you didn't give us your prediction!!! I think 3-1 to the city, we were quite lucky not to concede last weekend although we deserved the win. Clinger free kick, sheffs and either the duke or king.

I'll be on the chat box from 2 pm uk time this weekend, bring it on!!!

I am going to go with an entertaining 2 v 2.

McShefchenko with a brace.

I am travelling down on saturday morning from Manchester for this one. I booked my cheap train tickets yesterday. When I was booking them, I set the arrive time in Coventry to be before 11am on the Virgin website. Saw some for £4.50, so snapped them up. Checked my confirmation email this morning and saw that the departure time was 5:15am!!!?? What a cretin!
So I'll be in Coventry revved up for the game at about 7:15am, with only the 8 hours till kick off!

What's your source for the 27k?

If we have got 27k sold surely the official CCFC site would be posting that on the website to encourage more fans to completely fill the Ricoh...

for some reason it feels like our season relies on this game, we need a win and i think we will get it 3-1 with a carlsley hat-rick, or maybe just a platt first goal who knows

I'm not going to start branding people as Neo, but a carsley hat-trick? What planet are you from Will?!?!?!

I was looking at the ticket website earlier today: 15 and 16 were just about sold out, the CET was looking quite full with the JSB area almost soldout and the corner was open. The only block I looked at that was disappointing was block 17 which was mostly empty. I'm guessing the other side will be the same (about block 21 or 22).

Anyway, I think the turnout is looking good hopefully so lets hope the city don't let us down on the pitch!

I think you will owe Will an apology if Lee Carsley gets a hatrick :laugh::laugh:

Agreed, but I just can't see Carsley getting a hat-trick. He's meant to be sitting back to allow gunnar and clinger to push on!

Anyone not going tomorrow, I'll be here on the chat if anyone wants to join me! Wish I could be there!

Extra Police Drafted In For Leeds Clash
250 officers to be present.
Coventry City have revealed that there will be a strong police presence in and around The Ricoh Arena on Saturday when Leeds United are the visitors.
Additional police officers will be patrolling the city centre and bus routes to and from the ground while there will be 250 officers in or around The Ricoh Arena.
A spokesman for the West Midlands Police said the number of officers policing the match and the city on Saturday would be more than an average match, due to the fixture's high profile.
A record crowd for the season is expected on Saturday with Leeds bring at 6,200 fans from Yorkshire while Coventry have sold in excess of 18,000 tickets.
The Ricoh ticket office will remain open until 7:00 pm tonight (Friday) to cater for the high demand for tickets.

When I said carlsley hat-rick I was joking, I think If he scores just one goal all season it would be alright he's obviously not here for the goals. Having said that I hear Lee the man carlsley I well up for this one

Leeds don't have a defence and are all attack attack attack. We are very direct and play attacking football ourselves with Richard Keogh spending half the game in the oppositions box! My prediction is that it's going to be a high scoring game, I'm going for 4-3 to us. I'm sure I remember a game at Highfield Road in the Prem days when Leeds beat us 4-3... so I think we will do that to them tomorrow

Having said that, this league is so unpredictable it could be 4-3 or it could be 0-0 but I'll stick with the 4-3

Jutkiewicz, McSheffrey, Clingan and Keogh to score.

Now i'm still slightly bewildered as to how tomorrows game with Leeds went from another game in our good start to the season to somehow become this massive meaningful event, but the more I've thought about it, the more significance it seems to have taken on.

When was the last time we all felt this massive positive buzz about a league game? Honestly, for me, i don't think i can remember once in the ten or so years since i caught the sky blue bug that i have had so much optimism about a season. So much relies on the result of tomorrows game.

If we win, we have the strong possibility of going 3rd in the table after more than 4 games of the season!?!? The team gains a stronger, tougher, unified spirit. However, possibly most importantly, we gain some of the many, many supporters that have strayed over the years gone by, but have come back for one last bite of the sky blue cherry!

If we lose, yes it's only one game of a long season, but we go back to being the mid table sky blues that no one gives a toss about and is shown last on the BBC highlights. The fans that have come back for one last chance decide that they had made the right decision in staying away. The team loses that invincibility that comes with a string of good results, a big crowd and a strong team spirit.

I hope all goes well tomorrow, as i feel it will have resounding effects on us in the long run!

Gutted, we were not good enough first half. Second half was fantastic and I'm gutted we didn't nick a draw at the end because we deserved it. I just hope the second half performance will encourage the fans to keep coming back!
