Murphy : 7. Didn't do anything wrong and pulled off a wonder save from close range in the second half before it was scrambled away.
Clarke : 6. Not his best game,we looked uncertain sometimes going forward and he never had an option but dealt with the long diagonal ball well. Some of his balls into the box were off though.
Wood : 6. Again didn't do much wrong, thought the two centre backs were reasonable today.
Brown : 6. As above. Couple if wayward passes across the line when under no pressure but defended well today.
Reckord : 7. Similar game to Clarke in the first half but got forward well in the second and looked good at it. Created the goal and nearly supplied another late on as well as nearly scoring.
Bailey : 7. Always busy and trying to keep it moving but never had much time on the ball in the centre. Did well enough for him to start next match.
Moussa : 6. Put in some good tackles but some short passes were wayward and have possession away too easily. Some good moments als though, looks a promising player.
Baker : 6. Looked better second half than first, couple of short runs with the ball which created a chance for openings. He is passionate about the club, dropped on his knees in dramatic fashion when Cody missed a chance. Also went on his arse on the touch line.
Henderson : 6. Thought he was non existent in the first half, poor set price delivery as well. Nearly scored just before he went off with a curling effort.
McGoldrick. Was man handled for most the game and got nothing but looks good on the ball and would like to see him stay for the season.
McSheffery : 6. Dud ok and put a great ball in forMcGoldrick near half time but couldn't get into the game otherwise.

Subs
McDonald : 6. Got into some good positions today and looks a danger, we played much better with him and McGoldrick on the pitch. Should have scored two other chances and think he fluffed the goal which was actually an
OG.
Fleck : 7. Looked good on the ball and put in some teasing balls for Cody from deep and worked well down the left wit Reckord.
Edge : 6. Came on due to injury to Clarke and did a job.

On another note, thought the ref was very poor today.

Flecks good sub appearance today must be a blip as some here have already judged him as a poor player after 1 game

Someone has just put on Twitter that The Sun ( wouldn't be seen dead reading it myself ) have given Brown MOM.

What a joke.

Wouldn't be the first... Or the second time they have!

Very strange how the newspapers rate their players, the mirror is the same.

Having just seen the FLS I've no idea how Oldham didn't score from that goalmouth scramble-high time we had some luck like that.

Definitely an O.G, cody's very lucky he isn't in the PL as the dubious goals committee would sure be taking that off him

Who's been slating Fleck? Don't recall anyone.

Think the only two things thrown in his general direction have been about his fitness and being overweight.

I'm not saying he played brilliant but I don't think he had a bad game to be fair, him and Wood did a job yesterday. The only time we looked stretched is when we lost it in midfield and had 3/4 Oldham players running at our back line.

Yes I have said he didn't look fit last Saturday so perhaps it's me. IMO he didn't look fit to last a full 90 minutes.

It is mostly Osprey who had decided he was poor already so I was just having a little dig at him

I know I was listening on the radio (yeah yeah I'm shitty fan etc) but I was given the impression that Wood and Brown were making tuns of mistakes all the way through that match. They were responsible for some of Oldhams breaks on goal and Wood got cautioned several times for fisty cuffs in the box with one or two oldham players. He could have given them a penalty and then we might have been talking a draw or a loss.

I really think these two need to be replaced...

Wood (think he's our best fit centre half) and Brown (gash) both had poor games. In fact our defence got its first league clean sheet despite playing poorly.

I'm not one for slagging any of our players off ,but there are some who I will question their committment to our cause .We have defenders from last years youth squad who appear better and more committed than one or two of our senior pro's.,I know thats a totally different level of football. However if we take Wood as an example ,he seemed to have a lot about him when coming from SW.The manager who brought him in is long gone .,I don't recollect him utilising him 100% anyway ,possibly form or injury, he was subsequently overlooked by the following two managers. We attempted to offload him during the summer, all the signs are of a guy who's lost any committment to our cause with confidence shot, for me he looks like a Parks player ATM ,are there really no better options within our entire squad. Can continuing with him re-ignite his desire /passion for our cause, or will we get the level of committment shown from Sammy in His Bosnan year.

If your from a big club, or you've been good during an interview, or you are gracious when they print an upskirt photo of your missus, then they rate you highly.

Poole fro CET did an article on it a few years ago!

Murphy : 7 : Decent game, save that was shown on the FLS was quality

Clarke : 5 : Poor crosses, looked scared to go forward at times. Hopefully just an off day
Brown : 3 : Terrible. Let the ball bounce three times in the box at one point, then got tackled when he tried to clear it. Plenty of suicide passes. Cameron should be playing instead of him, he'll gain experience in this league and still be ours next season.
Wood : 5 : Pretty poor game, don't think he was helped by Brown constantly stictching him up though.
Reckord : 7 : Got forward well, provided a threat on that side.

Baker : 6 : Not his best game, but got stuck in and put himself about. Captaincy seems to have inspired him.
Henderson : 5 : Bit anonymous, some good looking set pieces but no-one on the end of them. Don't know if that was his fault or the rest of the teams!
Bailey : 6 : Tried hard and played alright on a day that the ball seemed to go in the air straight over our midfield.
Moussa : 6 : Seems to have the pace we desperatly needed, got back a couple of times when we were stretched. Didn't really happen for him going forward though.
McSheffery : 5 : Ran about but didn't really do much. Seems to lightweight for this league

McGoldrick : 7 : Played well considering most of the passes to him were at head height and the two centre halves were a few inches taller. Still has that bit of quality when the ball is at his feet though.

Fleck : 8 : I think Fleck changed that game. Some of his crosses into the box were inches away from McDonald, who probably should have finished. Must start the next game I think.
McDonald : 6 : Caused trouble in the defence, probably should have scored a few today. Hit one straight at the keeper and tried to kick one that he should've headed. Hopefully he kicks on from this, even though it was definitely an own goal!

First half was horrendous, never seen such poor distribution and control of the ball. I thought that once Fleck came on we were all over them, and could've scored three of four. An away win is the monkey off our back though and hopefully we go on from here with a bit of confidence. PUSB!

Have wondered about Clark this season in terms of the offensive element within his game ,not nearly as much of it compared to last term ,so question if the role has been re-defined so to keep the often expressed shape.

Maybe, the cross field ball from Norwood to Clarke was becoming our biggest weapon at the end of last season. We don't have players with the vision or accuracy to play this ball anymore

Most we're saying he was a world beater before he even kicked a ball!

Not defending the players at all here but the fact that ground only has 3 sides with the side that's open coming straight off the pennies playing neat and tidy football is near enough impossible. We didnt pass the ball as well as we could have but i dont know many teams that would have been comfortable in thoughs conditions!

My ratings

Murphy 7 Made saves when we needed too, solid performance apart from a few stray wood kicks (though i mention above why)

Clarke 5 Not taking the easy option thinks about the situation to much needs to get the basics right! His defensive player was good other wise
Brown 5 Is there a player in there? I saw 1 pass to Wood that was horrendous then another to McGoldrick which was decent! His positioning needs improvement he also needs to get the basics right!
Wood 6 Was pretty solid though doesn't look comfortable with Brown, he needs to read the game a little better than he does some times, he rushes into the wrong decisions some times!
Reckord 7 had a quite start but when he got going he looked a very useful player at this level! His contract is up next yr may a player to look at if Wolves dont need him!

Baker 7 See I think Baker has been one of our better players this season, if not at times our best yesterday he did well again but needs to have a god some times when a slight opportunity comes his way! His defensive work rate thas improved alot in recent weeks!
Henderson 5 Didn't really get going think it could take him time to get into the swing of league football!
Bailey 6 I like Baily but feel he needs an outlet playing next to him, I think Barton was a better partner to him than Henderson.
Mcsheffery 5 Didn't really get going, you can tell he still has a footballing brain but he hasn't learnt how to use it with his lost pace, can see Fleck starting against Mk!
Moussa 6 he moves about and wins the ball back needs to use his pace more in situations where hes up against 1 or 2 defenders, all in all a decent league debut.

Mcgoldrick 6 A very good player who cant lead a line to save his life. 1st half he was his own worst enemy with his ball chassing, the only problem was when he won the ball back he had no out let up top. Once Cody came on and led the line, Mcgoldrick became more involved with the game and linked up with Cody well.

Fleck 7 Simple this boy came on and was head and solders above any one of the pitch! He played the best 2 therough balls iv seen for a long time! We need him fit he will be massive for us in the coming seasons!
McDonald 7 Cody McDonald scores a goal eieiow Cody McDonald scores a goal eieiow were the chants fron the back of the stand and he sort of did errr yeah good goal as well needs to start his movement is very good and he gets into the positions where the ball will be if crossed!
The Edge N/A Had no time to do anything really!

To the one who reckons Fleck has been great in all the games he has seen -

Clearly you didn't go to the same games I went to then!

I think he does, maybe best signing in three years is a bit far though.

Just checking, you clearly go to games, but are you facing the pitch?

Edit: (after your edit) I agree with you on Fleck.

He hasn't been a superstar, but has showed glimpses of class and is (still!) not 100% so I'm hoping he lives up to the hype.

Just to clarify, do you hold such views on McSheff, as he, and Brown have been HEAD AND SHOULDERS our worst players!

I've seen 5 league games, 3 cup games and 2 pre season friendlies. You could have seen 4 league games and the Brum match and have a very different view.
