Never rated Jeffers mich, but we cant really afford to disregard the players we have at the minute can we! We gave him a 2 yr contract for a reason after all (probably to fend off all the non-interest like the rest of the ones who got new contracts!!)

I think we should give Jonson Clarke-Harris, Courtney Richards or Billy Daniels a shot. What do we have to lose?!

covscott= not being rude not to the point jeffers is given a 2 year contract and is ment to be given a look in where as those three are scoring in the youth games and haven't trained with the first team where as jeffers has, and knows the way to play.

Jeffers and wilson have shown at times in pre season they may be decent players but IMO the one who stands out after watching academy football and looking at his general goal scoring record is Johson Clarke-Harris, would love to see him get a run out off the bench one day.

Clarke-Harris could be the best option! We need someone whos been finding the met regularly, even if it has been at academy level.

Wilson in pre-season was used more as a midfielder.

clarke-harris hasn't trained with the first team and is 16 and pushing him in to the championship straight away without him even playing a full reserve game with us is putting a lot on him.

There's definitely something in putting in a player who is scoring goals, no matter what level. If he's in form and knows where the goal is then give him a run.

My worry is he won't get many chances to score...

This is my problem with those that get on Codys back. How many chances to we actually provide in the average match? 1? 2? No striker can live off that service.

You could try any of them but as pointed out above by kingharvest they are only as good as the service they get. We dont provide good service to any of our strikers, and that is not just under AT. Think it would be a tough ask to expect the academy lads to make the difference on that basis. I do think however that Jeffers should at least be in the squad especially as we are so damn short of strikers. AT gives ROD a chance but doesnt give Jeffers one ..... surely he cannot be any worse, certainly didnt seem it in previous season.

And what happens if we play one of the kids and they have a nightmare, maybe missing a sitter? It happened to ROD and it destroyed him; Christie and Gael now look like terrified rabbits in the headlights were they were once cocky young things, strutting their stuff. If we are to give a younger player a chance, it has to be the ones on pro contracts, Wilson and Jeffers: really, what is the point of having them otherwise? They won't get much better than they are at their age without games; the younger lads have plenty of learning and growing to do, there is little to gain by throwing them into a mens game at this stage.
