Just watching the final of the Masters Snooker on TV. Jeez! That bleedin' John Virgo gets on my nerves!! he has got to be the worst commentator ever. He shouts into his mic things like "Where's the cue ball going?" and utter shite like that, and 90% of the time he gets it wrong! Can't stand him! I mute the TV when he's commentating. Anyone get on your nerves?

I think I do it mostly because they spend less time in the studio, unless it's mid-session interval. They usually save most of the analysis for then or after the match, whereas the BBC like to cut away after most frames to get the thoughts of Steve Davis/John Parrott/Stephen Henry et al.
On the whole it's OK. The one time it does get tedious is when they have Joe Johnson always commentating on O'Sullivan's matches. I know the guy is probably the most amazing talent the sport has seen, but I'm not sure he needs Joe Johnson licking his backside every time he plays a shot that's anywhere near decent.
I find Ronnie himself actually makes a good commentator, obviously he has a lot of knowledge about what shots to play and how, as you'd expect.
