I agree to a certain extent but Thorn is the manager and was the scout before and has been the reason behind this team. It is his players who simply not good enough.
So as scout he found us Westwood, Dann, Fox, Gunna, Juke et al - and none of them for big fees. Sounds pretty good to me.
As manager he took over a team with 1 win in 18 (I think) that was heading for relegation and kept them up - whilst playing much more attractive football. He then loses King, Westie, Gunna and Turner, is given virtually no money to replace them and yet you seem to be surprised that we're where we are.
Short of turning water into wine during half times, I think he's done more than we could have reasonably expected.

Smiley - his players like bell and hussey showed tonight are not good enough yet we offer bell a new contract! And under thorn we've conceded so many late goals. Top of my head. Burnley away, preston away, palace away and tonight. Why do we sit back on leads all the time? I will say one thing, diamond did not work tonight and I think we should start 4 4 2 Saturday.
I live in Lincoln now, so midweek games are almost always out so i take your observation last night as valied. However a point can be made about his good and his bad signings, what i was defending on was the fact if it is half decent SISU sell, and refuse (so far) to replace. how is he supposed to work with that!! can you honestly say that the team that finished last season would have struggled and played poor football this season? i can't to be fair, considering what we have he is doing okay, and i do feel sorry for the guy.
