Martyn Waghorn kicking up a fuss over Covid vaccines makes more sense than maybe any footballer anecdote ever

At least we have all the great performances to remember him by

Have we had too many people fall out with both adi and robins before that we know of ?

It all seems like a very simplified version of reality .. why would adi be so aggresive with him for chatting to another striker

He was born in South Shields, which isn’t quite Mackemdor, but it is the wrong side of the Tyne. Think of it as the gates of hell, just before you enter the underworld.

He like, sounds like, he had a telling off like, took it badly, like, recognised his career was on the decline, and is looking for blame, like.

I am sure there is more to it, however AV telling him to shut up isn’t a nice experience I’m sure, but two sides. Not clear what is actual issue with MR was other than differing covid views.

No real justification.

It wasn't another striker,Waghorn was talking to MR when Adi butted in (from what I could make out anyway)

He wasn’t playing because he was absolutely shit for us, never understood the signing at time.

Congratulations. ‘They’re taking the hobbits to Isengard’ will be in my head while I’m trying to sleep.

Does line up with the rumours of ‘tough love’ coaching from Adi that didn’t go down well with a few.

Prefer to have that meth-ed out Middlesbrough lady from last night upfront than Waghorn again

It’s clear his heart was still with Derby and he never wanted to leave there and only had to due to their financial meltdown

It’s a signing that didn’t work and he clashed with his bosses like numerous employees of any business do up and down the country

People need to take the emotion out of things sometimes, no hard feelings to the lad - it’s a signing that didn’t work and we moved on

TBF to Waghorn I did hear somebody else talk about what a good influence he was in the dressing room, particularly to Gyokeres.

Robins and Viveash are not perfect let's be honest, so it's worth keeping an open mind generally.

I think though ultimately Waghorn was in decline for his spell here, started reasonably well but after he had COVID he just looked way off it.

He was utter shite for us, clearly his head wasn't with us and I would guess having Walker misfiring and the Waghorn probably pissed Adi and Robins off but no hard feelings and very very happy when he left...We did have some fucking dross upfront in the dark days...Kwame, Tudguy, Beavon etc etc

bang average journeyman who looked a shadow of his earlier days. Can’t really remember a single lasting memory of him on the pitch either.

I posted a piece about long covid in footballers/athletes a while ago. Not saying he had it but he might have done.

Waghorn stole a living here, we signed him off the back of 1 good game for Derby at the end of their season. But he was past his prime and slow as fuck here.

He's right in what he says about being an on pitch communicator. Was very vocal with the players around him when he played.
Unfortunately his brain couldn't communicate with his feet.

This also shows why people like Allen are so important, know they won't play every week, but train hard, show good attitude and do a job when they're called on.

He was a striker who scored as many goals in 22/23 as Ben Wilson.
