I think calling him awfuk manager it a tad harsh, he had initial success at both Wigan and Everton but became too rigid and didn't evolve when pretty football stopped working.
Think it could work to be honest. Not so much coaching is required in terms of improving players at international level, that's the clubs' job. Could get their attack firing, and certainly a good calibre of player. Probably see if Alcaraz has Belgian heritage though.
They had a relatively easy run to the final and it's often forgotten that the City team were pretty much on strike during that game. I'm struggling to think of any other team that put in less effort in a major final.
