Its a bit of a pisstake but Im not gonna call him shit or say he’s gonna fail because of it, its just a disgrace if he’s used us as a stepping stone to get what he actually wants, best of luck to him

Good luck to the kid. I wasn’t blown away by his videos but people seem to think he has a high ceiling. Time will tell I suppose. No hard feelings, better contract offer comes in, we would all take it.

Trust the recruitment team to have others in the pipeline.

Except we probsbly wasted time on a replacement waiting for him to change his mind

This unfortunately will likely be more common place in the pond we now fish in. It will work for and against us no doubt.

On reflection, I can't help thinking we've fooled ourselves - was a CL player really going to come here to play in the 2nd tier? Disappointing that the club and fanbase have wasted so much time on someone who never realistically desired to play here.

I just hope we have a Plan B and maybe Plan C lined up. Trouble is, everyone now knows we've got £5M to spend. Even more important now we keep Sheaf.

This is why the club stay quiet about the dealings,i said weeks ago King will not be happy this got out. But if the player thinks he is better suited elsewhere and didn't want to come good luck to the fella.

As for time wasted im sure deadlines or feelings of the player would of been known a while ago. As clubs don't keep chasing players if they find out the player has no interest in coming or talking to the club. A lot of the time its seeing if the player has an interest, what contract the player is on 1st before a fee is agreed with the players club.

So if he is off to Forest no problem, you cant miss what you never had. We just need to trust in the recruiting dept and King in getting some deals done. As they will go for plenty that won't get fone and plenty we will never know we went for. King will not talk about this player now or in the future, unless he signs. Whichever way this forum will be full of frustration and probably be a bit fractious tomorrow if this Forest deal is confirmed.

I wouldn't get too excited that hes played in the champions league, he plays for a team that got 1 point from 6 games and qualified due to the being in a shit league. Celtic played in in the champions league this season, rangers last season and and they're average championship sides at best.

I agree.

I have no idea how good he is. I hadn't heard of him before this and videos mean nothing (Kastaneer and Jobello looked great in theirs, and actually this guy's didn't look that impressive.) He might be great but only time will tell.

But you're right about the Champions League thing. I am sure many of our players would be good enough to get into many sides from poor leagues who play in the Champions League.

The positive to draw from this is the intent of the club to try and get him in the first place

Aston Ellard is a much better signing anyway.

This feels like the Robert Jarni fiasco all over again. At least we got to make some money on that deal.

It only turns into a fiasco if the club starts talking about potential signings in public. We under King dont sée any value in discussing transfers until its done. And even then its doesn't seem overly important to announce.

This so call deal could of been off for weeks if ever on. And while we discuss, the club could of moved on and used the talk of him as a distraction to go and do other business. We don't deny or confirm anything anymore regarding transfers, i hope it continues this way, the club need to get on with business not justify itself to us what they are doing or who is on a list of potential signings.

I’m sure the club moved on last week. Once it became public knowledge and he refused to sign they obviously could see how this was likely to end.

It is a shame because he was clearly our preferred signing for that position but we will have at least one other that we have keeping warm too, just in case. That’s football, players lead clubs on and clubs lead players on …..

It's disappointing but I take heart from the fact that the club continues to trawl the European market for reasonably priced gems. We have done well - very well - with the likes of MVE and Saka and long may it continue.

Doesn’t make much sense if he’s being loaned out again as it says he’s rejected us as he wants PL football.

There is every chance we may be in the PL and Forest in the Championship next season.

I guess the extra money helps him and his agent make sense of it.

So who else is an option for us other than Alan Browne who is on the unlikely side to come as I see it?

Would be funny to see him in a mid table championship team while we are fighting for a Europa League spot though

I’m sure there are plenty of great options out there other than Alan Browne, he simply can’t be the only player that can possibly play for us. I hope Doug and the team are expanding their horizons and looking at all leagues rather than seeing who we can poach off the team that finished closest to us in the league last season.

Very early days in the window. Better than chasing him all summer and then being let down last minute

It makes no difference if it’s public or not, his agent would have been trying to get him a club in the PL under instructions from the player.

These kinds of setbacks have always happened, it's just that we never used to hear about them that's all. We will have a long list of targets to go after.

I get the impression it was public because the player and his agent wanted it public. Not a lot we can do there.

Can't hold it against the lad that he wants to play at a higher level.

Annoying that clubs now know we have decent sums in the coffers, without Vik or one of our own moving!

Why are we arsed that someone who no one has heard of ten days ago have signed for another team?

Well, it did appear to be somewhat of a coup, and now probably weeks if not months of scouting and work getting the transfer done are completely wasted. We now have to restart from scratch with presumably less preferable targets??? That's why I assume people are 'arsed'.
