Maybe he went on holiday and hasn't signed everything yet

We haven’t heard anything from King, Austin Or Robins for a couple of weeks.

Not hearing anything in the first day of the window shouldn’t be a cause for alarm.

Absolutely.

Tats had flown out with the squad and trained for days before that was announced.

We didn’t sign anyone, apart from Dasilva which was agreed in Jan, until July last season. There is an international tournament going on and players are only just getting back from their holidays. People need to just ignore ITKs who don’t really know anything and chill out. Signings will start to ramp up in about 2 weeks time.

It’s not even the end of June, so no need to be concerned.

It’s not strange at all, Sakamoto was ‘announced’ because fans pictured him in gear before it went on socials.

I’m sure it’s done and they’ll announce the formalities when they’re ready.

I'd be confident they will ramp up before then, Robins wants as many new bodies in as he can for start of pre season on Jul 1st

Is it possible the deal is all agreed but won't be confirmed until we can actually afford it?

Always found it odd we were spending 4-5 million on this guy when the word was we would need to sell to reinvest the cash or Gyokeres would have to move on.

Isn’t that what this would be if he comes - Wilson’s shut out rate the previous season was mainly due to the three in front of him ?

Most transfer fees are paid in instalments, so we can almost certainly afford the first payment or two.

True and we've also had the payment from Sporting for Vik hitting one of the targets, which was rumoured to be circa 3-4 M euro.

When do the FFP years start/end, could be as simple as waiting for the new year to roll over.

But we might not afford payment 3, 4 and 5 if the Gyokeres move doesn't happen or the bids for Sheaf aren't as high as we hoped.

Would be a bit of a disaster if we signed Stamenic and then Gyokeres didn't move and we had to sell Sheaf at a cut price of £6 million to cover the future installments for Stamenic.

Well it wouldn’t as by next summer if we aren’t promoted we’ll be cashing in or one or several of:

MVE
Sheaf
Wright
Simms

Plus anyone else who shines next season.

30th June, but that’s for PSR which Prem teams follow. Think the EFL system is based off end of year accounts no?

Club don't seem to put much value on signing announcements All very much about business and keeping it as need to know basis. I don't mind this way of doing it, as long as they get the right player in the end all is good.

Best if fans know nothing until a new player has signed or one leaves the building - nobody’s business except the clubs

They might actually be putting 'value' on signing announcements? Possibly want them in the new kit with new shirt sponsor? Another might be to promote season tickets post early bird period?

There will be reasons why and when that suits the club, rather than just, we have to pander to impatient fans.

I’m sure we’ve got a few quid spare, surely the cup run and better than anticipated attendances have given us a surplus over the budget last year. 20000 season tickets and the impact that has on F&B kickback and so on….

Not sure we’ll be having to sell Sheaf at a knock down price….

I don think this is quite right ….

It’s more likely they want to get maximum value from the signings.

i suspect the kits are already to go too but if the corporate sponsorship isn’t complete you would delay that until it is.

fans think through their eyes but if you are the company sponsoring the club part of what you expect is that the club does everything to maximise the eyes on their sponsorship.

Today but would a good day to bury bad news with all eyes on England but an awful day to announce positive news.

Reading through this thread it seems quite a few posters seem to think the club are walking a tightrope of financial insecurity, is this actually the case, I mean, is it widely accepted that the club are precariously teetering on the breadline.

All we know is that, like most clubs at this level, we make a hefty operating loss. That has to be covered, either by cash injections (loans) from the owner or from player sales (probably them latter in our case), so managing this is critical. Suspect it's being managed well, but there is obviously a lot of risk involved.

We've made about £1million from the cup run.
It's not making a big difference to our budget.

Doubt very much the club would splash 4 million on 1 player If they were teetering , that's probably the best way to look at it

Fans on here often look deeper than they need to

One player, fee and wages, in the grand scheme of things it is not a lot is it?
The play offs followed up by an FA Cup Semi Final v Manchester United probably potentially holds more publicity value than it does in revenue and budget terms.

Yes we are better off with it than out it, but it hardly means we are a big player in the transfer market.
