Is there something crazy that can be done?

We love a big game and if 10% of those going Monday bought a season ticket win or lose for next season it would make a huge difference

The best thing we can do is win and get promoted and hopefully a few extra thousand will stay on the bandwagon for a bit longer

we missed a trick after the Checkatrade let's hope we don't do it again.
I know this wouldn't go down well with everyone but if they put an offer on for STs, say 3 day or 5 day window to purchase one at £250 I'd be quite happy with that even though I paid £299. Would just be happy if the uptake put a 1,000 or more on the average gate and brought in some extra revenue for MR.

Simply win!

All the marketing gimmicks are short term. We were the best supported L2 club last year and would be again if we didn't go up. Our average above many L1 teams too, despite being starved of success. Long term the only thing that puts bums on seats is winning football. GEt promoted some will come back. Promoted again and more will return.

I do sense a bit of a general uplift towards Sky Blues, the two performances on tv especially last Fridays seems to have delivered a bit of a buzz. Of course it could all easily evaporate if we slip up Monday, We could see what our marketing side of things are made of should we get promoted.

There is a much deeper issue here. There is a feel good factor at the moment. We've been there before though haven't we?
Regardless of the result on Monday is there anything different this time round?
An emphatic yes from me on several counts
1 - The team have a togetherness that I don't think we have witnessed for quite a while. No former footballing illuminati on one last pay cheque.
2 - It feels like Mark Robins might be here for the long term (medium term would be good with our clubs track record!)
3 The big one - how much cash have we generated over and above budget - cup run, play offs, Stevenson transfer
4 We have to be realistic and suspect that a few will be leaving - In my mind and in this order - Bayliss, McNulty, Willis at least. Money to come from these sales + Madison add ins

MESSAGE TO SISU

IF YOU DON'T BACK THE MANAGER AND INVEST NOW YOU ARE EITHER
1 A TERMINALLY STUPID ORGANISATION
2 YOU ARE VERY CLEVER AND USING COVENTRY CITY FOOTBALL CLUB AS A WIDER BUSINESS VEHICLE
3 HAVE A BUSINESS PLAN THE MAIN PLANK OF WHICH IS "WE WILL GET LUCKY FROM TIME TO TIME"

Most supporters will probably say it is all three, but I believe I if they miss this opportunity to properly invest or sell or somewhere in between, then they will never realise any value out of their investment, and FC City of Coventry will become a real possibility.

Someone should message the club and tell them this. If they jumped on it I think we would see shit loads of ST's purchased.

Not really sure they would do that, as although you wouldn't be bothered I bet a fair few who had paid full whack would be annoyed.

It would be interesting to see how many were sold to get a priority in the playoff games etc.

I appreciate that, was just my thoughts. I think it would cause a bit of a backlash.

One thing we know about SISU is that despite appearances, they aren't stupid.

Someone, somewhere needs to sit them down and say: "30,000 tickets sold in a couple of days. You are seeing something this club hasn't seen in decades- the chance of sustained success and a serious push upwards. If you capitalise on this you can expect crowds twice as big, you can expect a groundswell of support not seen since the 60s. If you want to sell up, if you want to get your money back- either way GET ON THIS and capitalise"

The best marketing any club can have is for the team to be winning- supporting Robins is what we need to be investing in

I'm putting an email together for Dave Boddy now (whilst dodging my boss).

I fully agree people who have already purchased a season ticket shouldn't be ripped off, but I think the club need to capitalise on this somehow. The rate we have sold these tickets has honestly shocked me. It's incredible, and we need to preserve as many of these fans as possible.

I don’t buy this. The last couple of windows we’ve expected an exodus which hasn’t happened.

Something feels different now. Especially if we go up, I’d expect them all to remain here.

No more protests, no more crises, no more navel gazing, no more boycotts, no more mentions in the media about what state we're in.

SISU- you've got a chance now, that could be replaced by a sky blue tidal wave- get on this and just watch what happens. When we've got something to get behind instead of protest against you'll be amazed at what you've got on your hands.

It's the same team we had at the start of the season, the difference is the muppets who loved to stir stuff up have strangely gone AWOL now we are doing well.

If we lose on Monday and are in League 2 there will still be clowns saying they are boycotting, "you wont catch me up there" and all that sort of nonsense.

Nothing has really changed, we had something to get behind in August last year..... It isn't just one game. There was something there to support in the pissing rain at Forest Green or the winter.

Marketing at the club seems to be much improved since Boddy arrived. Not sure we necessarily missed a trick after the check trade, we were relegated and that will always have a negative effect on gates. By the same token promotion will have a positive effect on attendances. There also seems to be a notion that 45K attended the check trade never to be seen again until another Wembley final crops up. I’m sure there will be a very small minority but the fact is the majority probably attended games before and after and simply aren’t season ticket holders so there attendances are scattered randomly over the season.

Does anyone have an email address for both Mark Hornby and David Boddy? As it stands I currently have an email drafted out but no one to send it to!

Thank you.

Just put your ideas up on here. They clearly look in. Just last season something I suggested would improve marketing happened at the very next home game. Could be a coincidence but who knows.

That's fine, but I've written out a massive email now and played hide and seek with my boss for the last half an hour.

Pressing the send button will feel like firing the missiles from the x-wing that destroyed the Death Star.

To target for marketing they need to look at purchase history for each person before they decide how relevant it would be to target them.

I have had people want tickets who support other clubs, haven't been for years etc because they want a day out on the beer in London. I spoke to one of them a few weeks ago and they asked if I still go and it was "Can't believe you still go and watch that shite". On Saturday when they realised we had won they wanted to see if I could get them a ticket or when they went on sale.

Need to target past ST holders, people with kids buying to hit them with "Why havent you signed them up as JSBs yet to get free stuff and free games etc", people who have been to the odd game over the last couple of years.

Trying to target the Burnley fan I know who wants a day out would be pointless.

It was the SBT equivalent of a Facebook post saying "Had a shit day " and you replied "What's wrong?"

Old fans aren’t bandwagoners they just stop going on a regular basis for reasons can be the recent direction the club has gone, Northampton, age, finances family commitments, health but over the years have put plenty of hard earned into their club the bug is still there.

use @clint van damme idea and compensate ST holders who paid more with a free home shirt or give them 40 quid voucher to use on club shop or something

Because you were making a big song and dance about it waiting for somebody to ask you what it said, when you could have just googled and got Mark Hornby's email address within seconds and from that had a pretty good idea on what Boddy's is

How? That would mean the club would then have to effectively buy the vouchers / shirts from Just Sport to give away?

but if they have received more income from new season ticket holders who took up the playoff final offer it shouldnt be a problem for them.

might have to be done on basis of we sell at least 100 or something to make sure it doesnt backfire financially
