In the last 2 sub appearances Markelo has made a bigger impact than Esse and his crossing has certainly been first class ….. you can see why we didn’t want to miss out on him in January.

Esse worries me. He thinks he can dribble his way past players no matter where he is on the pitch.

You simply can't be trying to dribble your way out of trouble when you are just outside your own penalty area. It's suicidal.

Would be catastrophic in the Premier League.

Esse played a great ball to markelo prior to his cross. Both are clearly talented players.

Hopefully we see Noah start a game. He’s an explosive winger which I want to see more of.

They are what they are . Markelo wants to do it for the club. Esse wants to do it for Esse unfortunately .

Markelo without doubt will be one of our LW options next year.

I don’t think we will sign a. LW

I think you’re forgetting that Markelo only played 8 minutes in his first month here

Markelo's cross on the run yesterday was superb, a difficult skill that he's already shown several times in his very limited time on the pitch.

100% agree with this. We can just about get away with it now, but is not a player I would want when the going gets tough. Also has slightly improved going back under Lampard, but still behind the other wingers in that area.

Agreed.

Don't think it will be an issue, though. Can't see us going in for him.

He can go back.

Thank you.

Neither are close to starters for us, both have big holes in their game and I don’t expect either to play much next season tbh.

Esse just seems very immature mentally. If he didn’t mess around with the ball in risky areas he probably keeps the starting spot for the rest of the season.

He’s got a decent cross, probably the best in the team. But he’s not starting for a reason he’s still very raw. I’d expect us to sign a winger in the summer. Do you disagree?

I think we will sign a winger anyway because esse will go back .

The club might start the season with EMC Markelo saka and new winger with saka and markelo squad players

Thoughts ?

Esse won’t be here next season I imagine while Markelo will be so I’d like to see the latter get more game time.

If we’re setting up with inverted wingers again and I don’t see why we wouldn’t think we sign two and Sakamoto is sold as he only has a year left in that scenario.

I think that’s exactly what will happen. Shmmeee said Markelo will go out on loan

I think the main reason he’s not starting is that we’re in a title race, the team is winning, and EMC/sakamoto are playing well. There is simply limited opportunity to impress.

I’d expect us to sign a winger or two anyway as we only have 3 contracted but wouldn’t be surprised to see Markelo in the mix.

Onyeka and Latibeaudiere have forced their way in recently. I think he needs a fair amount of work. Not as much as Esse though who is so raw Gordon Ramsey is shouting about him.

Onyeka was signed as an experienced premier league player who was always going to start straight away. Lati came in because our CBs weren’t performing.

He’s 2nd in the pecking order behind our outfield player of the season.

Lati forced his way in due to injuries and suspensions.

Don’t start on Onyeka who you called a failed premier league player and didn’t want us to sign

So by being better than what’s there. Which Markelo hasn’t been. You made out we aren’t changing the team.

I only half watched yesterday but looking at the stats he had 6 touches all game. Must have been some touches to get this reaction.

Don't think we sell Sakamoto, and don't think we prioritise a winger to play on the left.

Think it's a 'no thank you' for Esse and a new right-sided winger. I imagine Saka being a squad player / impact sub next year.
