He was head coach under Mowbray for years.

I find this a very odd move. Hes played very little part on the onfield matters (on a match day anyway; we don't really know how involved he is on the training field), yet despite there being other coaches still on the books, whether we rate them or not, hes suddenly stepped up? I hope he does wel. Just find it odd that a board member has now come to the forefront.

Looking for another scapegoat?

Has a board member ever managed a football club at the same time before? And no, Orange Ken isn't included (wondering, did JH ever do anything similar?)

I think the Swindon chairman Lee Power took over as manager for a couple of games, after he had sacked Mark Cooper

Whilst its very early, just seen this early tweet re next manager. Clearly Venus is favourite. Not surprised to see Robins in there though. Would people have him back if he apologised for shitting on us? Knows the league, our start last season aside hes probably got us playing the best football in some time, id consider it!

Just seen the Sky Bet list of managers to repplace Tony Mowbray. Aside from Mark Venus, would any of those managers want the job? i suspect not. What do people think?

Very likely in my opinion to be asked to step up to manager roll atleast on an interim basis. Cheapest option for our owner already on payroll, but should he take it ? If he declined and Clapham similarly wouldn't that put our owner in a predicament because if they have to go outside the club you are looking at atleast 3 year contracts, new backroom staff, old staff to payoff, sisu won't want that.

Mowbray came in originally on a contract to the end of the season, they could just do that for anyone new.

If Venus gets it on a permanent basis and nobody quotes Bananarama, humanity is a lost cause.

Would be an interesting appointment, would have to hit the ground running in my opinion and now officially a director and all sorts of fan shit going on he could be a big winner or massive loser. In one of Geoff Fosters in depth interviews as a board member he can be asked all sorts of searching questions.

With Venus managing us, will we have to wait a week for the "post match interview" to be cleared by the board before we can hear it?

Sorry if this has been mentioned already, but one thing about CT's summary of MV:

"Venus’s main remit is to head up the recruitment department and find quality players that fit the budget and the manager’s requirements for more than one season."

If this is the case he should take one look at our squad, do the decent thing and resign. He's as responsible than TM for our current position, if not more so, as its down to our limitations in personnel rather than tactics.

I think whatever SISU do next manager wise will be a good indication of how close to the end we really are with them. If Venus gets the role on anything more than a very temporary basis then the rumours of something bigger happening might have some legs. Otherwise, a Steve Evans/Cotterill type appointment would suggest we're no closer to being rid of the fuckers.
