That team is a brilliant reminder Jimmy Hills Beard of the terrible situation we had got ourselves into.

This is why MR has to be in any conversation of our greatest ever managers. Inheriting a club in total freefall, a team worth nothing and rapidly falling down the divisions. Not to mention the chaos off the pitch.

To go from the team that Robins inherited to real contenders in the Championship with players worth millions in Hamer and Vik - it's staggering.

Well its always been a bit of an odd one really. I am pretty certain Milne was always first team manager but they kind of worked as a double act I suppose. I think Mercer was more a General Manager - negotiating contracts etc

Think Mercer was the wise old head to mentor Milne and for him to bounce ideas off, as Milne was pretty inexperienced.

I find it truly astonishing how far we've come since he came back. Given some of the challenges he's had to contend with, it's incredibe just how far we've managed to progress.

Reilly was part of the Marvin Sordell - Stuart Beavon swap deal i believe. Not a stellar signing.

Fantastic eulogy about Robins in today’s Not The Top 20 podcast and high praise for Viktor and Hamer for being among the most consistent players in the league. Well worth a listen.

Why do you think he never gets seriously considered for a premier league job? I can never understand it, obviously hope it stays that way

Could tell from his first interview 10 years ago with us that he was something special. Never could have imagined this though

Why would he want too?
The only ones he might get are all basket cases. Leeds, Everton, wolves etc

I guess when you look at the salaries though, apparently Nathan Jones got £2m for his stint At Southampton. So glad he hasn’t done the same

This man has given me the best, and most positively unforgettable, footballing memories of my lifetime.

The overhaul of the entire club since he’s taken us on is truly remarkable. How he has managed to achieve what he has done on and off the pitch I do not know. He has brought the fans back in swathes, built a togetherness and unity with the playing squad, and got us playing a fantastic brand of football. Match days are now a day which brings excitement and anticipation, rather than a laborious chore, which it became for the most part after our relegation from the Premier League.

Considering the adversity and nonsense he has constantly endured, working on a shoestring budget with a shambolic owner, no pitch to play on, or even a home ground in our own City, I personally would not have blamed him had he walked away. His desire and belief is so infectious, he’s just a perfect fit for our club.

6 years in and making consistent progress year on year, we have an awful lot to be grateful for. Here’s to the next 6!

Because MR doesn't tick all their boxes. Prem sides would rather take a gamble on little known overseas moderately succesful coaches that rarely succeed.

My guess is that ..

1. He is unproven at that level

And

2. It takes him time to build a decent and winning side and you just don't usually get that time in the Premier League.

Had a look on the Leicester board to see if anyone was considering him for them and there were a few posters who thought he’d be a good fit and would take the job but a gamble.

He has always worked on limited funds so of course it would take time to put a decent side together after each promotion.

Since he came back 6 years ago we have improved every season. How many managers have had to put up with half he has and still be successful?

But why would he want to leave?

Hopefully his unsuccessful spells with Huddersfield and Scunny, have made him better appreciate his very successful times at Cov.
Sometimes a club just fits a manager well, and that is MR and Cov.

Digressing slightly, I see that mental case of a football club Watford have just sacked Bilic.
Thats eight managers since 2019.
Shows what achievement MR has done.

There’s talk that when and it will soon be when Graham Potter gets the boot at Chelsea his pay off will be around £50 million, ridiculous, probably tax free.
Potter is a decent manager but it’s players who will get him out, nearly always is, that’s why Fergie got rid of certain players who dominated the dressing room but it took Sir Alex five years to control the dressing room and in that time he dispensed with some strong characters some in their prime.
In a way Robins has done the same here and now fully controls the squad of players and has that ruthless streak too.
