All the truly big clubs were pretty much defined by old style managers. Ferguson, Pep, Wenger, Mourinho, Klopp. All big personalities that ran the club and were woven into the fabric of the club.

Wherever he ends up, I wish him all the luck in the world and hope for his sake they appreciate him & show him more loyalty than he’s had here.

On a serious note I can see him going to Burnley in the next couple of weeks when Scott Parker is sacked

See Huddersfield and Scunthorpe. He was sacked both times btw due to poor performances

Will feel very weird when this inevitably happens. Is there anybody he could manage that would tarnish his reputation with us?

When Robins has managed at other clubs he hasn't exactly been a roaring success has he .

If he'd travel there, that's not a bad shout for his next job - Norwich are fecked at the moment, as Sargent is out for a couple of months. Their form has dropped off completely since his injury. Hopefully he won't have recovered before we visit on early January.

If he does decided to do it all again, he needs another project or basket case. That appears to be where he thrives.

Wouldn’t surprise me if he doesn’t return to management for a while, if he returns at all. He put a hell of a lot into this job.

But he has overseen continued success & growth here hasn’t he, despite all the well documented issues he’s had to contend with.
I would imagine this is what any would-be suitors will be looking at.

I very much doubt he would be offered some of the jobs you lot are touting him for.

If he does return (I suspect he will take a long period off and may not at all) I would expect him to be offered mid table champo jobs at best. Likely lower with the time out.

Very different manager now. Manager being the key word though. Seems he thrives better with total control rather then Head Coach.

As much as we love Robins he's not going to get a job like that.

He's not a glamorous appointment and has no track record of promotion from the championship so why would the likes of Burnley go for him.

Much more suited to a club looking to punch above their weight.

Not sure about that on. God knows what his income has been over the past 35 years, but it’s been pretty privileged. I bet sitting in his villa has softened the blow as well.

Can't see him being back in the game for a while.
Needs time for himself and his loved ones.

It's more that they have greater ambitions than we do currently. They're expected to go straight back up and have the squad to match.

Tbf he was the longest serving manager in the championship, And in the top 2 or 3 in the entire football league.

That's what made it such a bloody shock.

Wherever he ends up next, they are getting a bloody good manager. I just hope for all our sakes that King's plans come off, otherwise this decision is going to look like the biggest cluster fuck in the clubs history.

If anyone thinks this is true then they really are daft. Seen people on Twitter genuinely believing that Wolves would want him.

Won’t manage again unless it’s local and suits his private life. Coventry in the premier league would have been his swan song

Agree. Don’t think he’ll take a high profile job any time soon.
