Just thinking and imo robins has made a lot of our under performer's better since he has come in; wood, baker, barton, sheffers, edge just the ones in the team atm have all been better since robins has come in. Baker for one has to be the biggest player he has transformed and i think giving him the captaincy has helped baker improve. It must be down to the fact that he is a proper manager and knows what to do with the players.

Fair assumption.

A good manager should have a better idea of how to get the best from his players.

The players need to believe in the manager too however.

I think aside from MR having decent management experience and clear thought processes in the first place he has set standards and the players are clear in knowing what he expects.

First off he has high personal standards that he maintains (setting an example), then he has set standards for the squad and challenged them to exceed and maintain those standards (players need to be challenged). Seems to be working because in terms of application, fitness, attitude, togetherness we are nothing like the team we were at the start of the season.

He has just recieved the LMA award for performance of the week.Very richly deserved.

I also think the travelling skyblue army should get some award, for travelling in numbers first to Hartlepool and then Colchester all in the space of four days.Brilliant support, and i say well done to every single one of them

At least in public, he praises players for what they do well. That's good management. Look at the Barton piece today. That should encourage him much more than shouting at him that he is lazy.
