Mowbray a bit too high for me.

Ultimately Slade will get the focus, but Mowbray gave him the grenade in which he pulled the pin out of. That transfer window was a disaster.

As for Mark Venus, he was anything but a safe pair of hands!

Mowbray has always been overrated by our fans, how the hell that squad of footballers managed to tail off quite as badly as it did in the 15/16 season was and is unforgiveable - The club should have been brave enough to bin him off when it looked like we were going to not even finish in the play offs, then the summer transfer window that followed was a disaster, you got the vibe that we were sleepwalking in to a long and hard season when we dithered around making any signings despite how much quality we lost through ends of loans and players out of contract

He managed the media well and knew how to get the fans on his side, constantly moaning about lack of resources and budgets, which yes he was right about but he also knew exactly what the hell he was signing up for when he took a job at Coventry City at that time - Always gave off the impression he felt like he was doing us a favour by being our manager as opposed to ever truly wanting to be here and certainly managed to preserve his reputation in the game by bailing when he did and having a certain relegation on his CV

Venus was an absolute snake and a charlatan, he wormed his way onto the board and come out batting for the club to sell Ryton when his wife was conveniently on the board of a property development firm and if the slippery twat had his way Slade would have been handed the opportunity to spearhead the League 2 rebuild, luckily Fisher decided to make his best decision in his pretty sorry tenure as chairman by overruling him and getting Robins back which made Venus resign

Slade was hopeless and painfully out of his depth managing a club like Coventry City (as he also was at Charlton, Cardiff etc.) but as bad as he was he did also give us the run to Wembley, a day which I do not think the last 9/10 years or so pans out the way it has without, so he will always have that

I think Slade should become to Coventry what Macbeth is to theatre
