Amazing what one win does. People said the same about Richard shaw after his first game in charge.

Most signings have been dross over the last two seasons.

Even Jones, who must have cost a reasonable sum, looks a concern.

Most signings, apart from Jones and possibly a couple of others, have not been the targets - as Mowbray explained.

Richard Shaw wasn't on the board and had not been as much involved as MV who was TMs partner when he came.

That said, one win hasn't altered the structure of the club.

I would still stick with Venus. We cannot do much anyway outside of the transfer window and a complete new start would take us back to square one, whereas Venus could carry on where Mowbray left off.

Give him until the end of the season - whatever happens.

Yep, it's just one win. It means nowt.

Not at all the time to be anything like getting carried away, even if we win 2-3 more games in a row.

Yep, as happy as I am with yesterday's victory, it is just an isolated win at the minute, I'm not sure why people are getting carried away.

Don't be concerned over an 18 year old in his first full season in the League One, in his first year away from his home town and carrying an injury for several weeks of this season!

I would have been for Venus even if we had lost for the reasons I have stated.

If it is Venus it will be for reasons of cheapness and nowt else.

The talk is of consistency with the club. Consistency of us keeping on losing then?

Most of the permenant signings over the past two years were identified targets.

When they say consistency, it's all to save costs on the managers kit - we have to find someone else with the initials TM. Preferably called Tony too, so our players don't have to go through the trauma of learning someone else's name.

We are not losing consistently. We are not being outclassed - individual errors, not taking chances, ok. But we are not far off getting it together imo.

We won 3 games in a row at the start of last season and had relegation form after that, and Mowbray was the messiah

I don't see it that way, mart, unfortunately. I see us once again lacking the physicality to compete on a consistent level.

I would say we need at least another 3 through the door (strong, physical types of player) before we can truly compete.

We look lightweight to me.

Which he had the decency to admit. No point bringing in anyone yet as there is little that can be done on that front. Hence my view - give Venus the job to the end of the season. If that is a cheaper solution, then we have more budget at the next Transfer window.

Yep, get that logic.

All that is available now are out of contract players and they are surely going to be nowhere near match fit and will need a 'pre-season.'
