Well Utd have won it but I am furious with the manner that it happened. I had money on Utd to win but they stopped competing to win the game after scoring the goal. The fans are right when they sang, "We do what we want."

I know the job is done but its outrageous and embarrassing for them and Blackburn. What does anyone else think?

Hope both team get fined and Blackburn go down. On live tv? Think of all the people who had United on their accumulator!!

Some petty fine possibly but probably fuck all, In comparison for utd winning the league and blackburn staying up. I thought Fergie wanted to beat them after the way they treated his pal Allardyce clearly not. I bet utd rest all the big guns against Blackpool too which surely does Blackburn no favours.

Anyone remember the last quarter of an hour in the 2-2 draw against Bristol City at Highfield road in the mid-70s?? The point for each team kept both teams up and relegated Sunderland. Looks like both teams were happy with a point at Ewood today too - there's no rule that I know of that says 'teams must attack and not play possession football while trying to hang on to a result'. Talk of points deductions or fines is ludicrous in this instance.

So what is the difference between this and playing a weakened team? It was embarrassing to watch.

Both teams got a point and were obviously happy to keep it that way - there's no law against keeping possession. It may have been embarrassing to watch for you, but I'm sure both teams and both sets of supporters would have been happy at the outcome, albeit for different reasons. At the end of the day the records will simply state that Man Utd won their 19th title with a 1-1 draw away to relegation-threatened Blackburn.

Don't you agree that a sport should be played competitively though? I am not saying it is against the rules but just because it is the interest of both teams doesn't mean it is fair to not try to compete against one another.

Think of all the other teams it had an affect on. How is it fair for Blackpool who had to work their asses off scoring four past Bolton only to find out that Blackburn weren't under any pressure. In othere circumstances I would have fancied Utd to kick on and win it.
If we are to agree to disagree thats fine but I just don't think it should be allowed it is tantamount to match fixing.

I agree with you but then equally United willl probably rest players against Blackpool next week because of the Championjs League. They did what was right for them. I guess its an extreme of a 1-0 up team holding it in the corner

Football is a game of tactics, these included. If they lift the champions league i m sure they won t worry about a few annoyed blokes in coventry. Good thing about the tv, its got an off switch

it was poor to watch in the end but they went there for a draw minimum and got it. Job done in their book.
