People saying about Barcelona and Madrid. Their revenue streams are much, much higher than Citys...surely? City don't have that global appeal like them two do.

Trophy wise and money wise City are a big club but off it they're not in the same leage as the other succesful European sides. In England alone, Liverpool, United, Arsenal and Chelsea all bigger than City.

2 year European ban and £25m fine for overspending.

Racist/ abuse £25k and maybe a shut stand or ground for a game which isn't properly enforced.

Good to see the priorities are where they should be.....

Looks like it might be a long time in the courts before this is settled.

They'll only get it if they're relegated, just like all the others who cheated their way out of the Championship on piss taking losses

Didn't Bournemouth get away with a 5m fine?

They can only get served a fine by the EFL if they re-enter it. Worse were Wolves who ran up a £50 million loss in one season...

Wolves a very dodgy case.
Those Mendez players came in on low wages by Championship standards, some even less than they were on before.
But the penalties for those clubs that get promoted are negligible. Don't get promoted and there's transfer bans etc.
Bournemouth are done at 4.75m.
QPR spent a fortune on lawyers and got there's reduced considerably (some of it settled by changing owners loans into equity!!).

It's strange how UEFA can punish City for owners investments yet didn't give a toss when many big clubs across Europe were helping players avoid tax (break the law) through various alternative means to direct wages.

Could Man City potentially be stripped of Premier League titles too?

Why is them winning the league a bad thing by comparison?

You'd rather a team cheat to win the league over Liverpool?

It’s clubs like City that make it so much harder for clubs like ours to get anywhere without a tycoon

They escaped it in the Championship.

Been covered by the "Together Anything Is Possible" campaign to mask how they really got to the Premier League.

Problem is can go through PL & Championship and there are very few club without out a "tycoon" or business consortium behind them.
Likes of Steve Gibson relative paupers when looking at the other owners.

Look at the financial state of most Championship clubs and they’re built on sand. Unless they’re collecting monstrous parachute payments

exactly.
Been screaming it for age Championship financial model is a shambles.
Few of these owners are tied to their clubs (most are overseas investors). Clubs piling up debt which owners could "walk away" from.
Clubs can seem to resist the magnet pull upwards on wages that PL wages continues to create.

isn't part of it that it refers to block of years rather than individual ones? Then you have the 12 month delay in accounts being published, then you have the investigation/mitigation

See the PSG chairman now being charged with bribing FIFA officials in relation to TV contracts. Do FIFA/UEFA have a "fit & proper" ownership standard?

From the daily mail admittedly but interesting article on the state of UEFA...
The game as framed by UEFA and Europe's privileged elite is BENT | Daily Mail Online
