Looks like Kevin has rejected a 1 year payment upfront to leave and will stay 2 years here to not play.

Obviously doesnt care about not playing football. He will pick up free wages for doing nothing.

This has just come from Covmad though hasn't it?

That completely changes the potential accuracy of the information if it's Covmad.

If it's reported from other sources too then I may start to give it some credence.

If its true it doesn't suprise me though.. What was he, 23 before he made his professional debut? He's used to not playing!

This signing still baffles me. He looked a pretty tidy player against Sheff Utd then vanished!

Seeing Hummels for Dortmund last night reminded me that Kevin Malaga existed. Purely from a looks perspective, obviously not a footballing one.

Question should be who signed him, where did they see him play, who gave a 2 year contract and for how much. I don't think it was Andy Thorn

Malaga, hasn't been given a chance at CCFC. What I've seen, he looks a "Handful" when we have attacked at "Set pieces"
The majority of you on here are painting him as a bad man....How do you know that he doesn't want to play and only pick up easy wages?
I'm of a mind to think that he wants to stay to get into the team. By all accounts, he became a bit of a cult figure at Nuneaton, they loved him.
So come on Elvis, give him a fair "Crack of the whip"

He looked a bit of a goal threat in his little spell in the team didn't he? I didn't really see anything in those games to suggest he should be completely turfed out of the squad.

Malaga had a deal so why so he accept anything less.
Good luck to him - Karma as far as SISU are concerned

As Sky Blue Kid mentioned, it seems a little unfair to assume Malaga's some kind of horrible Winston Bogarde-lite who wants an easy life (he did move from Nice to Coventry after all). With players on the way out he could possibly see it as a chance to force his way into contention.

I thought you only go to away games?

Malaga made 2 home appearances. When did you see him? When on holiday in France?

Because SP would have told him something along the lines of - "you're not in my plans, we'd like to release as I'm not going to play you"

And the fact he hasn't been in any matchday squad since thorn left and has been on the transfer list since robins was here, and refused to go back to Nuneaton on loan, suggest he is happy to pick up his pay cheque.

Perhaps he reckons Nuneaton on loan would spoil his career long term? He probably doesn't want to be thought of as that level of player.

A player who wants to play at a higher level than Nuneaton.

And he has the chance to try and do so for the next 2 years or not.

Not really if the manager told him he's not in in his plans. In fact I believe he's been on the bench for U21's recently.

It was one of Andy Thorn's great scouting successes before.

If the club are anything like this forum, the manager won't be here for the next two weeks let alone the next two years!

Anyway a good manager will always give him the chance to prove him wrong.

We;ve had plenty of managers(good and mostly bad) this season that don't seem to think he's good enough.

In fact, with his career stats, it seems that nobody has ever thought he's good enough.

I get the impression that he was a local baker in Auxerre who was delivering some croissants to the club one day and accidentally got given a contract after heading away a pain au chocolat that got caught in a gust of wind.

Everybody has been too embarassed to admit their mistake ever since so keep shifting him on hoping nobody will ever notice.

"Zut Alors"!

If he isn;t good enough, no wonder he stays then! Either that or take a pay cut somewhere else and plays at a lower level.

In 2 years time he can go to non league.

You have obviously not seen him play. The lad is a decent player that has not had a fare chance. The reason going around at the time of him being left out of the squad was he didn't know enough English. It would "Piss on a few Chips" if he was given the right chance and proved everybody wrong wouldn't it?

I haven't seen him play, no.

But either way whether he's good or bad is reason enough for him to stay. Either he feels he can force his way into the side, or he feels he'll never get this chance again!
