I see in the CET today they state who Malaga was on trial with; Uzes Pont Du Gard

Can't say I've heard of them, and looks like he'll be going back to where he came from; the unknown.

Also, Jennings is on trial with a league one club (I still say he could do a job so would imagine he'll earn a contract soon enough).

The Brazilian trialist has been kept on for another week, but the Portuguese winger has returned home as he didn't "fit the “DNA of electrifying speed” he’s looking for, leaving his search for a rapid wide-left man on-going.

He seems desperate the find only the right players! Can only be a good thing, right?

Agree - but already worried about defence for Saturday with Adams and Webster iffy.

i actually thought malaga was really good for us against sheff utd first home game last year, shame he wasn't given a chance

i think due to the nature of our transfer embargo the end of the transfer window will have no effect on us so we'll be signing players until the end of the free transfer window

Imagine living in Nice and then near the Pont Du Gard, and in between the two you're in Coventry and Nuneaton. The man's insane.

I agree. In pre season I thought he'd go on to be a better player than the Edge.

That said, for four managers, 6 including Shaw and Carsley as caretakers, to over look him, something must have been wrong. Maybe he had off field issues? I mean he did have the chance of first team football, albeit at Nuneaton, and turned that down after only 28 days, opting to train in the week knowing full well he wasnt wanted / wasn't going to play. Something's not right there

All managers like certain players and not so keen on others that's how it is and always has been.
I like the Edge and thought he should have been in the squad, and I see he's scored two goals for Bury already.
But Pressley has shown he's the Boss and knows what he wants and we have to go along with it.

Edge may have scored two in two for Bury, but that's not his primary job. His job is to defend, help keep a clean sheet...they conceded 6 on Tuesday night and 2 on his debut

Fair comment Edge is a defender and at this level a decent one too but can get a couple goals as well it seems.
We have let in a fair few as well haven't we ?I'm not saying he's a great player as he isn't but feel he's as good as anything we've got and in my opinion unfairly let go.

There's obviously other reasons behind his release than footballing ones. I would rather have Edge on our bench than Willis at the moment, no disrespect to the lad.

But as I wrote earlier managers have their reasons and sometimes we're left scratching our heads in wonder.
I might rate a player but you or another fan might not that's all down to opinion.
All we hopefully agree on right now is Pressley looks like he's developing a good squad of players, and if the defence could just tighten it up at the back we can have a good season.if we keep what we've got !

I would like to see him play Chritie at centre half with J.Clarke at right back.

I still think we'll lose 2 players before the transfer deadline

If we do lose two players lets hope it's not Baker,Wilson,or Moussa.
Clarke I feel would be top of other clubs list but we need to keep all our players.
But we are Cov City and we always let go of our better players.

I'm hearing the "bomb squad" was not his idea at all but Waggots / Fishers. He was shafted early doors about it and has had to live with it. Then he decided it was better it "appeared" to be his decision than not, so has continuously stated it was. I think relationships inside the club are under real stress and it will not take a lot for it to all go bang !

The club haven't hid the fact they were looking to cut the wage bill from 4 mill to 2 mill

Pressley will have been told his budget for the season then it would have been his decisions which players would get the chop to fit in with our budget

We're hardly missing any of them and that's with hardly replacing them

And not missing any defensive players at all I suppose.

Yes we need better defenders but we were missing them also last season also. We would still need them if Malaga and Edjenguele were in the the squad

Malaga and Edjenguele would have made little and I doubt any change to our goals conceded column

I never said our squad didn't still need strengthening, just that we are not missing any of them in the first team. Our first team isn't weaker because any of them leaving.

Is that Adams and Webster generally iffy or iffy as in possibly not fit, or even both?

By defensive I also mean defensive midfielders. Last season we had too many. They made each other look poor at times. This season we don't have any. There is no join from defence to midfield. How long can we keep scoring 4 or 5 goals to get anything from games?
