Think Palmer and Simms motm

Their keeper caught some crosses like super man as well.

You must have watched a different game, mate.

You're right, Tavares did get 2, but MVE was nowhere near the scoresheet.

Don’t really know how to rate that given the obvious gulf in glass and the low intensity we played at. Happy for Simms, he’s a much better striker when the ball is played in front of him than when he’s asked to play with his back to goal.

Wilson 6 nothing to do
Bidwell 6 defended well , poor going forward
Lati 6.5 defended well and got forward well too
Thomas 7 back to doing what he does best
Kitching 7 adds composure to the back line
Kelly 7 kept it simple
Torp 8 so good to watch
Wright 5.5 nothing really happened for him
Palmer 8 solid performance
Tavares 7 (5 without the goals)
Simms 9 so pleased for him , lovely composed finishes , hopefully more to come

Subs
O’Hare 7.5 busy but overplayed it a lot
Eccles 7 kept the tempo going when he came on
MvE 6 little impact
JDS 6 see above
Godden 6.5 linked up well for Tavares goals

I am surprised tavares is getting a decent rating. I know goals are what he's there to do but in general play he was so poor and was getting bullied by sixth tier defenders.

Is he a winger or a 10? He was average on either wing but was in the right place when played centrally . His overall game tonight warranted a 5 but he scored two goals , which he’s in the side to do

Totally agree but he’s never a lone striker so would only ever be played in a two

yeah that's true

If we do movd back to 3-4-1-2 like we did at the end of the game then he may get a chance at times as 1 of the 2

Didn’t do his chances as an option any harm tonight and seems a very confident individual too judging by his celebrations

Don't reckon he could hold the ball up and bring the midfield into play then?

Need to cut out the sloppiness, the lack of care with the ball, the inability to retain the ball at a throw in, there's almost an air of misguided arrogance at times as if they think they're better players than they actually are and they can turn it on at the flick of a switch.

His one thing is he is quite fast so he will be best at running into space behind people.

If he hast take it by a defender then that is another story.

They can all have a 10, definitely not that level of performance, but a 5-0 win playing in 2nd gear through to the QFs now

We didn’t get out of 1st gear. When we needed to we did turn it on at the flick of a switch

Simms vs Wright for top scorer is as tight as we all thought at the start of the season just they havent scored as many as we all expected. Regardless long live Robins and long may it continue

Yeah hard to rate really as we didn't really get out of second gear and there wasn't any real intensity.
Stand out performances for Simms and Palmer.
Kelly kept it ticking over all game too

Tavares isn’t a right winger, best used up top but only if there is space behind…like tonight in the last 20.

Wilson 6 - Night off really
Bidwell 7
Lati 7
Thomas 7
Kitching 7
Kelly 7.5 - Some great calm passes
Torp 8
Wright 4.5 - Worst game for us really.
Palmer 8 - First half they didn't know what to do with him
Tavares 7
Simms 9 - Hatrick and improving off the ball

What I will say about Tavares, is when played in his actual position he was often in the right place at the right time. Makes me think he has quite good instinct.
