Which is strange, as the ideology behind god makes him a dictator. Satan (Lucifer) was his right hand man, and when he thought he could do better, God pushed him out. The rules are, do good, believe in me or you go to hell...go figure...

...I don't think you quite understand the meaning of that...

Definition:

a phrase used by itself as an interjection to mean "How can one explain that?", or to express puzzlement over some seeming contradiction.

Well, actually the ideal of communism is fantastic. The trouble is, at a human level, we can't even handle democracy without corruption so communism doen't stand a chance.

Smile!! That's funny but genuinely I reject that understanding of gods sovereignty as shown in true human form-Jesus.

Just wondered if you rejected this vengeful god and explored the god we see portrayed in the life of Jesus if it made more sense.

No biggy though!

That's not how god's heaven is said to work though. Its his way or the highway. That's a dictatorship.

It's the difficulty with anthrapomorsing the creator! We need to see the evolution of human understanding of our creator and make the cultural links to bring his kingdom in of peace, justice and love

Feel like I am forcing my opinion on you and don't want to. So tell me to knob off if you wish!!

Religion is not what will Stanley was on about and it's not what my faith in god is about its about relationship with the creator of the universe. My life makes sense as I seek to follow Jesus example of peace, justice and love. I believe we make mistakes about the character of god - his way or the highway for instance, when we hear people talk about their religion or when we fail to see that our understanding of who and what god is has evolved through the history of time!

What didn't make sense??

Your previous point. This one makes more sense though. I suppose if you believe in this, then that's your take. I don't though. Too many theories in theories upon theories...

The only thing I feel sonetines either way belief or unbelief is if people have either opinion just cause of what their parents or friends believe and don't try things out or question it for themselves. God bless tad

Don't get me wrong, there are forward thinking liberal/socialist/communist religious thinkers like Giles Fraser, a very forward thinking clergyman, but, largely, politics and religion usually polarises to the right, because the bible is knotted up in contradictions, I could use the bible to argue left and right stances, Thatcher used certain parts of the bible to justify her economic policy. An example of right thinking in religious is, gay marriage, yes, there will be staunch opposition now, in 50 odd years, history will not forgive them and the gay community will largely be accepted, in this country anyway, but not yet for Bible Belt states in the US or Arab nations. Just out of curiosity, and if you're willing to disclose such information, where do you stand on the banana skin of a question?

The Catholic Church in particular has been one of the most corrupt institutions in history, for centuries have abused its power and exploited many people, sorry if you're a catholic, but it's true (btw, I'm from a non-practising agnostic/catholic family)

It's a good question and I think you are correct about the next 50 years, this country and opinions. I am on a big journey of re-understanding my Christian faith in the light of new/old thinking on the root of Christianity being love and attempting to take the hard teaching of Jesus about justice and the poor to heart and be the answer to prayer in situations I see that I can do something about.

On homosexuality and same sex marriage on a society level I am wholeheartedly in the equal opportunity for all stable and where this goes against the churches traditional thinking I think society and culture decide.

My opinion as a Christian is that god is love and those that live in love, live in god and god lives in them!

There are issues but that is my fundamental view.

If you'll allow me a friend wrote a parable on it.

2 brothers received a Lego set for Christmas and played with their sets with their father.

One of the brothers was severely autistic and set about placing all the Lego pieces in their separate colours and then ordered the in size smallest to largest.

His other brother made his set and was extremely pleased to finish the complex set without his fathers help.

His father noticing that both brothers were so proud with what they had produced gave them both a massive hug and praised them and told them he loved them.

The brother without autism was cross about this and tried to get his father to make his brother try abd mske thr set properly.

His father explained that god had made his brother and given h gifts. He explained that he loved both the brothers just as they are.

He explained to the son that he should enjoy the gift given to him and use it well and he should accept his brother as he is the fathers child too!

The gift is life and my belief from experience of god and friends from all sides of opinion is that god made my friends who are gay to love someone of the same sex and I should love them for who they are and honour their relationships as I would my straight friends.

What do you think??

I remember when I did that in Geography at school. I'd say Football is religion-like, most certainly.
