Im glad he is staying, but this is how far we have fallen, to be glad that a Champioship striker will stay with us on loan for another month because the current strikers we have on our books are useless, whilst we battle relegation to league two.

Well what do you expect to happen under SISU? us to be challenging top end Championship clubs making million pound bids?

@LB87ccfc.......There has obviously no bids been made for Madine, otherwise he wouldn't still be with us for another month. He has already stated that he wants to stay at CCFC. but because Sheff Weds. want money for him, and SISU wouldn't pay a brass farthing, we will be lucky to have him here after the extended loan deal expires.

I think he's convinced already. It's SISU's reluctance to pay for a player that I think will prevent any longer term arrangement

The sensible option if they want a fee and we don't want to pay it. Guess it's wait and see now and hope nobody will make a better offer.

No club will offer a fee Feb onwards. If they are that interested in him they would use any money as a top up to his wages. The highest wage offer wins.

Counts us out I suppose.

Who you calling bellend you fucking melt, Good to hear we read from the same hyme sheet in relation to SISU but unfortunately since the return back to the Ricoh their has been not a dickey bird from anyone regarding the cancer that has our club on a life support machine, so way I see it sometimes is , everyone must be satisfied now with the club being run into the ground, because we returned home, and talk of a new stadium, whilst again, we cannot purchase Madine for 150k-200k when its obvious their is a good player their, who ultimately won't join for free.

I know Sky Blue Kid, but its ridiculous that the fee is going to be nominal for a player with baggage and out of contract in 6 months, yet we cannot afford it although their has been the return to the ricoh and wilson money etc etc etc, they should be speculating to accumulating with Madine, sign for 200k max, scores goals, gets interest, sell at a profit if need be, in the meantime helping us stay in this division.

To be fair I think it's as muchdown to his wage demands as any transfer fee as alluded to in Pressley's interview:

“I have spoken to Gary regarding his future and he really enjoys it here and would like to stay here if possible,” he said. “But there are a lot of issues to overcome before we are even in that situation; financial issues such as what Sheffield want for the player or are they going to allow him to leave in January?
“Then there’s the financial package for the player – can we put together a package within our structure that entices Gary here – so all these obstacles are to be overcome before we’re in the situation where Gary has a decision to make.”

And

"We stress he is our number one target but a lot will come down to financial issues and if Gary can get an offer out of our structure that's something we can do nothing about.

My prediction will be that a bid will come in during the month from a club who actually want to achieve something, triggering the 24 hour recall which will leave us in the brown stuff with no plan B. Shambles again. This should've been sorted weeks ago!

Your not far off with this at all. We all know the " we pursued every possibility with Gary" quote will soon come from Waggott's mouth via Pressley

I really don't think Madine (no disrespect to him ) will attract a fee and I'm sure he hopes that Is the case as It's more dollars for him.

Wednesday have already stated their would be a nominal fee for the player hence the hold up and him not been given a free transfer at this current time.

There remains a 24 recall option - so if a bid comes in during that period he is off. It makes sense for the Owls - they keep him fit and in the shop window whilst they wait for a sale.

I know they're purported to have said that but I don't think It's realistic for this league or the one above .

Unless they have eyes on one of our youngsters maybe?

Tudgay was and still is a hero at Wednesday, can we not sneak him through the door in the opposite direction lol ( wishful and silly thinking I know)

While we're Into this line of thinking didn't Fisher once say he could get Involved with(I think ) his hometown Club, IE buy them or something like .

Now I'd take a swap with him for Mandaric.

Isnt the key here that Sheff Wds have a recall clause so can recall and sell him at any time I would think. According to SP clubs prefer players that are match fit and playing in the January window.........

Yes definitely.

The truth is madine is probably not on a huge deal now due to personal circumstances and wants a big pay deal. It's very possible he will refuse any offers in January and it is possible we could retain until the end of the season.

Is it likely we would agree a loan for 4 weeks that has a 24hr recall? How can you plan around that?

I suspect the loan deal recall is only based on an offer being accepted for Madine and the player also accepting it with a fee level predetermined. The likelihood is slim. He could be here till season's end. Wed want him gone now and if nothing materialises in the window I suspect they will allow him to leave to us for free and have him off their wage bill. He's not exactly suited to many teams and is not a prolific striker either.
The question will be how much wages can we offer him and ambition that will excite him? Please don't dismiss the reality of the next few years playing at a fabulous stadium for a 'big' club in a lower league with always the chance (as good a chance as most in this league) of achieving some success. That will have a bearing too. Would you choose Yeovil or CCFC?

He is a Championship standard player. We are a L1 club teetering near the relegation zone and could well be in L2 next season. Is Madine really going to want to tie himself down to CCFC given these circumstances? I'm glad he's here for another month but the only way we will get him for the long term is to move up the table so he feels secure for next season.

Have I read that it's for 3 additional games and he's doubtful for tomorrow - great (will only be happy if we actually sign him). Also, what happens if we don't get him at the end of this, but our 'friends' in charge think they might. Will this mean that they can't commit to a replacement for Madine in the meantime in case they might get him. When they then fail to get Madine, will it be 'oh, we can't get anyone decent now, 'cos we thought he might stay?' - then we'll be left with Tudgay, who we've told we don't want (and now everyone knows he's past it, so they won't want him either, due to wages) I can just see it happening, not sure what the rest of you guys think?
