Coventry v Nottingham Forest
Venue: Ricoh Arena

City V Forest Head To Head

Tuesday evening's Championship match at the Ricoh Arena will be the 90th league and cup match between Coventry City and Nottingham Forest.

City have won 18 of those games and drawn 28 times. They have scored 97 goals compared to Forest's 113.

City lost 2-1 at Forest back in November.

The last game at the Ricoh Arena between the two sides saw a 1-0 win for City with Freddie Eastwood getting a 23rd minute winner for City in a game remembered for the appearance of assistant Amy Fearn who took in the 71st minute from referee Anthony Bates and refereed the game far better than he had done.

My Predictions

Formation

Westwood
Keogh, Cranie, R.Wood,O'halloran
Bell, Baker, Gunnarsson, McSheffrey
Eastwood, King

Score: 2-1 (King,Keogh)

Attendance: 17,934

Any match day predictions/banter please post here

1-1 draw for me.

This weeks games willl decide wether we have an outside chance of the play-offs, lose them both it's going to be a long 4 months looking over our shoulder, Win them both and we are right back in it.

I think we can get a win today, We've been playing recently just not getting results. And with King starting to hit the back of the net and westwood not been sold i'm gonna stay hopefull for a good result tonight. Bit worried about not having a proper cm with Gunnarson. (DOes anyone know if cligan is defently injuryed or are these rumours?)

PUSB

EDIT: Just read on skysports -
Boothroyd is likely to restore Eastwood, while Sammy Clingan should overcome the minor tweaked ligament that ruled him out at St Andrew's.

That makes me feel positive, i'm going to go for a 2-1 win, (King 2)

Clingan Fit To Play Tonight

Coventry City midfielder Sammy Clingan should be fit to face one of his former club's Nottingham Forest tonight at The Ricoh Arena after missing out at Birmingham on Saturday with a niggling injury to the same knee that kept him out of the game since early November.

Clingan's inclusion will be a welcome boost for City boss Aidy Boothroyd as he has lost two of his midfielders during the January transfer window. Michael Doyle joined Sheffield United while Clingan's replacement last Saturday, 17 year old Conor Thomas joined Liverpool on loan in one of the shocks on the final day of the winter transfer window.

Boothroyd said to the CT: "Sammy will be back! I've got him wrapped up in cotton wool."
Clingan has been sorely missed during his injury layoff and it is no coincidence that City's form plummeted while he was out as he is one of the more creative midfielders available to Boothroyd.

"It wasn't an enjoyable weekend," admitted Boothroyd, "but it won't be difficult to pick them up for Forest. That's their job and my job. We'll prepare properly for Forest, who are a very good side, and then we've got Leeds on Saturday."
"That's what the Championship is, you've got no time to feel sorry for yourself, you've got to learn lessons and make sure that you take them into the next game."

Holding my breath - heart says 2-1 to City with King scoring a brace but head says a loss against a team that plays decent on the ground football and has some good players. On balance then a 0-0 draw

I hope you had some money on that with King 1st scorer! imp:

Forest played very well yesterday especially McGuigan, I think they will go up this season.

In terms of the game, that was awful, the team we had out was bear bones. Doyle, whilst being a very avergae player, has been sold and 17 year old prodigy Connor Thomas has been 'loaned out' to Liverpool leaving us with only Gunnarson and Clingan in centre mid, Clingan injured himself in warm up so Martin Cranie played there.

Worst defensive performance I have saw since the year we nearly got relergated on the final day of the season. Not going to slag off Westwood but that was his worst game for us, O'Halloran, Keogh and Wood and Cameron were all poor, although Keogh improved in the second half, as did bringing Jordan Clarke on at half time.

Baker one again flattered to decieve, McSheffrey wasnt as bad as people made out and Eastwood did ok, Gunnarson was his normal average self.

King is head and sholders the best player for us, but Forest put two men on him at times neutralizing him out of the game, I still don't know what to make of Jukebox. I know he don't start often but the more I see him, the more I think he is a L1 player.

We are in a relergation battle.

We're 15th with nine points off the relergation zone. Ipswich are two points behind us and have two games in hand, Scunthorpe are second bottom, but have three games in hand. Derby, Boro, Portsmouth and Palace are all below us but have one game in hand. We play Leeds away on Saturday followed by a very hard run of games including Leicester away at the end of the month. We could so very easily be sucked in to this

Really disappointing yesterday. We looked ok until we got the goal, then we made a slip up and conceded, and went to total balls. The players just seem to turn off and lose all belief after we concede, it's shocking. As has been said, King looked head and shoulders above anyone else on the field, and was our only threat really. When he was moved out wide and we stopped getting the ball to him, it was game over. O'Halloran was absolutely appaling i should add; until last night i thought he'd done ok for us, so let's hope last night was just a blip rather his true colours. And i agree that i don't know what to think of Jutkiewicz either. He has the occasional moments where he looks alright, but then moments where he shows no control, no strength, and a total lack of ability to find the back of the net.
Leeds away is surely another 0pts for us on current form, but Palace at home after that could be where we look to get a nice confidence-boosting win and to try to get back on track. A bit of confidence and we might start performing better.
