"I'm delighted. First and foremost, the win was the main thing as it just looked as though it was going to be a draw. But we kept pushing and pushing, never giving up.

"Alex (Nimely) produced another piece of magic once again to get us that last chance and I am just thrilled that the penalty went in and we get the three points.

"On a personal note, it was a great night. It is no secret that I didn't have a good spell at Leeds and their fans don't really let me forget that.

"There were a couple of tough moments and that penalty in the first half, facing their fans, it was nice for it to go in. I have waited two years for that and it was great to get the opportunity.

"In last minute as well, the nerves were going a bit but I thought just put your foot through it and when it went in, it is best feeling I have had in a long time."

With some big games coming up, McSheffrey thinks this win has put survival back in Coventry's hands and hopes they can push on.

He added: "I hope we can build on that result as we have got everyone to play towards the end of the season who are down there with us.

"We must beat the sides around us if we are going to stay up but to beat a good Leeds side really sets us up nicely.

"Like I say, we have to go to Forest and get a result. We have Barnsley at home and Portsmouth at home coming up, and they are massive games for us.

"Doncaster and Millwall are also due to come here so I think it is in our own hands as if we beat them, then we are taking points off them as well as gaining some.

"It is up to us and if we can perform like we did tonight, there is no reason why we can't stay up."

He wasn't that bad for Leeds, they went up and had a great cup run! But their loss, and it was sweet to see him give them some attitude. Brilliantly taken penalties they were, too

If that's what it takes then the team should chant "You're too shit to play for Leeds" at him before every game.

I can't stand dirty Leeds. With results going our way and Leicester losing, it was a great night all round. :guitar2:

Good on him, he's got a lot of stick since his return and his early season form was the best but he's beginning to shine now.
