Mac software for music production and graphic design (1 Viewer)

Is anyone aware of any budget beginners software for Macs for music production and graphic design and where to get it from?

We've been donated Apple Macs at work and I'm hoping to start courses for homeless young people. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

have you got GarageBand on the macs? What kind of music production do you want to do? Recording instruments? Playing midi keyboard?

Garage band is on there but it seems a bit limited in post production. It'll be to record a wide variety of instruments, vocals, decks etc. Whatever the service users are into! I'm rubbish with these things!

Try ProTools. Probably the best one, it's used by professionals. But you can get a cheaper one, which is still good in the Apple shop which will put you back about £80

Logic Expresss is pretty good. Reason is good fun too!

As it is a charity he may well be able to get it cheap but torrents are illegal and bad...
