Gimoc 10 - confident, explosive performance from the big man, delivering with quality we've come to expect from him over the years

I think the first 3 you mentioned were the best players on the pitch for us .

Simms worked hard

Raphael was good. He runs with the ball really fluidly and looks like he can ghost past men well. Good balance. How he'd look against better teams remains to be seen. Promising, though.

Feel a bit for Simms. He did some good things, but those chances were laid on a plate.

Simms will get stick but it's positive that chances fell to him and he was heavily involved in the game.

Morons ironically cheering our own players do my head in.

I thought Torp was very good first half. His off the ball work has come on loads in the last year compared to where he was.

Positive signs from both the new full backs and nice to see Raphael and Andrews get good run outs.

Agree with the point about it's positive to see Simms involved. He's always going to be clumsy, but at his best he has a knack of getting plenty of chances and putting one or two away.

Wilson - 6
Brau - 6.5 got better as the game went on
KKH - 6.5 as above
Thomas - 5 thought he was dreadful and rightly hooked
Bidwell - 6.5 first half not so good , second half alongside Kitching looked more confident
Allen - 7.5. thought he was very good , linked well and didn't misplace a pass
Torp - 7 tried hard but not a lot came off
Andrews - 7 probably generous but that he looked composed and confident on the ball but made a few bad choices ,definite promise
Rapha - 8 there's a player there , raw as you like but has the ability to do something different
Simms - 7 played well , tried hard , scored , and missed a few
Wright - 6.5 still not fit but showed touches of quality tonight

Subs
Kitching - 7.5 becoming a very , very good all round player and leader . Really drove us forward and marshalled the back line
Grimes - 7 Did the usual Grimes thing , linked well with Allen too
Rudoni 7.5 just getting better and better
BTA - 6.5 set up Simms well but so clumsy at other times
Sakamoto - 5 love him but was anonymous tonight

Thought Kitching was clear mom. Good performances from Torp, Raphael, KKH and Allen. Won’t mention the negatives.

Please, I said two years ago he was useless and peeps still go on about he will come good, “Plenty of chances and putting one or two away” …he is a effin striker and paid handsomely to be one, so just stop the crap!

Simms has always seemed a laid back personality but he actually looked depressed tonight, even when he scored. I want to give the poor bugger a hug. The ironic cheers for winning a header were disgraceful.

Raphael reminds me a bit of Jobello. I’d be surprised if he breaks through consistently but hope I’m proved wrong obviously.

Shout out to Andrews. Really combative and confident performance and carried it well.

In the hat for the next one and that’s all that matters!

Was really surprised how good Rapha was out of posession.
Focused, aware, constantly checking his positioning, especially 1st half.

Rapha was class, offered real end product unlike Bassette.
Andrews was a bit disappointing, he tried to hold the ball too much.
Allen put in a shift
Haji getting a little bit fitter
Brau combative but caught out of position a few times in the first half
Bidwell, some excellent blocks & clears
Torp had a good game

Wilson 6 - did nothing wrong
KKH 6 - decent first start
Thomas 6 - couple of poor passes from the back but solid
Bidwell 6 - Not a CB and an accident waiting to happen againt better teams
Brau 6.5 - balance and looks like he can deliver really well
Allen 7 - full of running and did the basics really well.
Torp 7 - good especially in the first half
Andrews 6.5 - looks like he would be worth keeping around the first team and played well
Rapha 7.5 - direct and effective all game. Can he do it against a better defence, time will tell.
Simms 7 - scored the winner should have had another but in the right place and he just needs to go on a run now.
Wright 6.5 - did well and in the second half looked good up top with Simms

Kitching 7 -
Sakamoto 6 -
BTA 5.5
Rudoni 7 - class player, exciting to see his technical abilities and I think there is definitely room for further improvement.

Agree with a lot of your ratings and comments but would ask what Sakamoto did tonight that warranted a higher rating than BTA who set up a big chance for Simms

No - he’s had two head down runs and positionally is dire. He will never based on that be anywhere near championship standard. If you think he offers more than Sakamoto that’s your call

Fair comment/challenge, and given there was only 0.5 between them in my ratings, I don't really have strong feelings about either of their performances.

Bidwell at centre half worked. It offered reassurance to see him on the left, able to add a little bid of experience and cover for Brau. Just felt that Bidwell was constantly talking with Brau throughout the game.

Yeah, Saka was a bit muted last night, he had 35 mins and I don't remember anything remarkable he did.
KKH was also a little bit off the pace but Rapha was really effective playing forward of him, he didn't need to burst through.
