Most of the midfield are poor generally poor with their goal contributions, I do think it is a problem. Today was Sheaf's first assist since the 2022/2023 season, and it was literally a 5 yard pass to Torp who smashed in a banger.

Eccles is a really decent player, and I think your tendency to watch football matches through football manager type stats doesn't give an overall perspective. A steady 7/10 is harsh in my opinion, but its still a bit of consistency we aren't seeing from most of the other players yet.

I'm starting to get annoyed with the shooting ability of both of them, Eccles couldn't score in a brothel and Sheaf is only marginally better.
I know I'll get the generic its not their job responses but it's not like neither get forward, both often find themselves in decent positions on the edge of the box and it would be really helpful if they chipped in more.

To be fair, Eccles did have two very good shots today. One the keeper saved and one that just whistled past the post

I am more annoyed with Sheaf's shooting to be honest. Most of his shots seem to go about 20 feet over the bar.

He's scored 2 goals for us ever. Close means nothing. Both need to be better.

Binks 5??
You really are clueless

That’s what I thought Binks played really well , he was at fault with Thomas for their second goal but at least Binks tried to go with their forward Thomas just stood there , apart from that I thought Binks was excellent one of his best games for us.

Binks - 2
Adebayo -11

Proper old school needle between those two.

I knew that spat in the first half wouldn't be the end of it.

Good to see a City player happy to mix it but not get booked (looking at you LK).

If only we hadn’t had such a defensive line up.

If someone calling a player steady and consistent is classed as hate then I think it's fair to say Eccles benefits from being the favourite

Case closed.

Are you sure you're not getting Eccles and Sheaf mixed up? Sheaf had one from Milans pull back that whistled past the post in the first half (1:00) , and had another good shot from the edge of the box in the second half what was well saved by the keeper (2:45)

No. I was talking about first half for Eccles' effort and he definitely had a shot in the second half that went narrowly wide. I remember his putting his head in his hands, because he thought it was going on.

Unless I am going mad

I've just popped the link to the highlights, at 1:00 and 2:45 ish. Both Sheaf.

You’re right. He had one from long range that the keeper pushed over and then he had one second half that was just wide.

Can't remember them, but if so, means both players had a couple of good shots then, so don't see the need for the criticism of either player based on yesterday's game.

True

I have just picked up on Sheaf, because so many shots of his are so high over the bar. I really rate Sheaf highly and thought he had a great game. Just wish he could work on his shooting.

I think that’s fair. I’m probably more harsh on sheaf than most during the game as he’s a really good footballer so I hold him to higher standards…when he blazes over the bar or drops teammates in the shit with casual stuff, it winds me up more than if other players do it. Pleased he’s returning to form after shaking off the rust in previous games

Yup, he looked a lot more free-flowing and sharp yesterday. Back to more like his best
